One player will not move us no. But Casey scoring 55 pts would surely mean that whoever is on his wings would be having a good year too whether that be Nylander, Okposo, Pommer, or other. This would also mean that ROR (if still here) would be pivoting a line too with it's own wings who could face easier competition if teams are scared of Casey playing well against them... which could improve their stats.

Then add in a better break out and zone entry with Dahlin... maybe better goaltending from whoever... It could be a big change.

i don't think rasmus will be ready for the nhl next season.. i hope they slow roll him on the 3rd for a little or switch him to wing. i think throwing him at 2C out the gate is too much

If I'm holding a contract on a big name that could be bought out, I'd be more inclined to do it for Corey Perry. I think he would find his scoring touch better than Ryan would here. Only 2 years older but both have STEADILY declined goal output in the last 2 years.

EDIT: Someone deleted original comment saying that they'd trade a 4th rounder for Bobby Ryan if OTT retained 40%.

If Eichel takes the next step and records a 75+ point season which is fully possible in year 3 if he plays a full season. ROR gives you his annual 55 point campaign. And Mitts gives you 50 on the third line you have a damn good team. How many other teams have 3 50+ point centres ? Dahlin at the very least is top 4 d-man quality year 1. Risto will get less minutes and better matchups. You have McCabe and Bogosian and Pilut entering the defense corps that you didn’t have last season including Nelson and Guhle who will continue to improve. If Botts can add a scoring left winger and a goalie then we are at the very least playing meaningful hockey into March.
