whats the right deal?
- rinaldo

Not being dealt for kids or futures.... An actual proven NHL player right now preferably on the LW is my hope.

Thanks for posting this.

Reading his stuff from sitting down with Dreger was good info.

I found it even more interesting that Dreger then said "it is highly unlikely" he is traded.

Also, didn't realize he was playing wing on Team Canada.

- JVince11

This statement was revised later on by Dreger to say something along the lines of "more likely than not" traded

Russian, undisciplined, size, lack of 200' game.
- TheSabresTaco

So he’s basically a complete nhl ready package. Perfect

Size was the reason why people stayed away from DeBrincat and I LOVED that kid in juniors. Really wished we had gotten him. Now he put up 50 pts as a 20 year old rookie.

We haven't really spent much time looking over the roster and cap because Philly was never really considered a trade partner. So you're missing out on need for need.

Simmonds and Konecny for ROR and Lehner. Add minor pieces where necessary. I dunno.

- TheSabresTaco

who is we?

the same lehner who likely wont be qualified? or if he is qualified you end up paying what 4mm plus on? no thanks on him. what else you have?

It'd be ridiculous if he made it to round 2. He has great talent. I think his skating is not "great" either.

Problem is the "Russian Factor" still exists. Until that stigma goes away, and until some Russians stop threatening NHL clubs, it will always continue to exist. And players will drop. And you'll have guys like Kucherov and Tarasenko et al shredding the NHL and fans being like why the (frank) was he drafted so late.

I think the problem with Philly as a trade partner is that the pieces on PHI that we would want are not ones you would be looking to deal.

Giroux, Voracek, Patrick, Konecny, Sanheim, Ghost, Provorov aren't going any where.

The pieces you'd be willing to sell like Couturier, Simmonds, Read, Oduya, Lehtera, etc all come with baggage in bad contracts, slumping, age, etc.

Just not a great fit IMO.

50 points as an NHL rookie you say ? But I thought Mittelstadt was destined for 35 points.....

this draft is so deep men, in a regular draft he's probably a top 15... maybe a team can take a chance at that spot but so many names out there.... CRAZY YEAR !

I was responding to a prior post.

that being said he would slot in nicely on the flyers; the need is there. As flyers are not that great down the middle. he is right age, contract not too much of a killer.

Kucherov was a late 2nd round pick which is basically a third which is basically like a mid first. He really didn’t drop at all basically.

Mittelstadt was scoring at a .83 PPG clip SIR!!!! That'd be good for a 69 pt season surely. FOR SURE. Undoubtedly.

I would move voracek in the right deal.

Provorov and patrick are probably the true only untouchables imo. rest depends what the deal is; cant see buffalo wanting giroux.
