JR does NOT mince words. If he says it's blown out of proportion, it's blown out of proportion.

You look at what JR said about Letang and he didn't mince words not be cryptic. He completely alluded that Letang could be had in a deal.

This comment regarding Phil doesn't allude to anything other than the situation has been blown out of proportion; that's it. You could extrapolate the following:

1) There IS a situation, but not as dire as the media has reported.
2) This makes him possibly available.

When I look at the Letang comment, he clearly says he's not actively trying to trade, but he can't project an offer some team might make. That pretty clearly says if the right deal comes along, a trade could happen.

THIS IS NOT A TRADE LETANG COMMENT! I'm merely pointing out how JR speaks to the media.

JR also does damage control... Kessel is available for the right price

Hey Ryan Wilson

With all your "Fancy Stats" Can you explain how the Capitals won the cup?

1)Trotz's poor roster decisions - Benching Vrana, Playing Tom Wilson with Ovi, Splitting Backstrom and Ovi onto separate lines, no center depth

2)McLennan trading Johanssen for picks, Overpaying Kuznetsov, Boat Anchor Orpik and his 5.5 million cap hit, signing Smith-Pelley, Overpaying Oshie after his record high shooting percentage

Can you?

Can you put it in a graph or something, so we can all understand, oh wise one?

Not a fan of Niskanen since he tried to end Sid's career last season.

There's no real player in the Caps team that I can think, wow- good on you mate. But there's plenty of grubs.

Sure. Congrats for their sake. Tom Wilson is still a headhunting piece of garbage who doesn't deserve Stanley.

Good for the Caps. As great as Vegas did making it to the finals, they have a lot of work to do if they want to stay competitive. Their D was a disaster in this series, and as the weaker Pens teams of the past did, they hung Fleury out to dry (though he didnt play his best either).

Backstrom the guy that failed a drugs test at the Olympics? Plenty of players get through conditions without failing tests. Any advantage is still an advantage - just ask team Sky.

Congrats to your son In law. Theres certainly a thousand great people that are fans that have been waiting.

Games 1,2 and 3 were all games that could have gone either way. The Caps obviously played better in Games 2 & 3, but Fleury kept them in those games and Vegas kept the in striking distance.

The Pacific is pretty weak unless some teams make some major moves, so I expect Vegas to be right back in the playoff mix next year.

Vegas looked lost in the last two games, but the Caps are just the superior hockey team. They didn't face anyone on the level of the Caps in the playoffs until the cup.

I know this sounds counterintuitive, but I think Nashville would have been the best team to face the Caps. I'm not a believer in if Team A loses to Team B, Team B loses to Team C, that Team C can beat Team A.

Different teams match-up differently. Rinne was just bad and still probably would have fallen apart in the cup, but I think the Preds would have had a better chance of bailing out him out than the way Vegas played in front of Fleury those last two games.

In other news Jaccob Slavin is playing in my B level beer league. He wasn't trying very hard, thankfully, but we (obviously) did not win.

He failed that drug test due to taking an allergy med that contained an Olympic banned chemical on accident. This happens all the time. Gets a handful of NCAA football players every year. He wasn't doing PEDs.

That's great! Crazy to see how good those guys are. I play pick up every once and a while with guys that played in the OHL an Q. They can make you look pretty silly. I can only imagine what an NHL'er would do.

Honestly I'm happy for the caps. Ovi needed a cup. The great players in the game should get one; and he's generational.

I like keeping the cup in the met.

I would have been happy if vegas won too; maybe more so. Just like the guys there a ton.
