For some reason I really think Staal and Smith plus the 28th pick might be enough to pry the 3 away - KreiderBomb

Are you going to adopt a couple of puppies and call them Smith and Veleno?

It seems that every draft lately has the Habs taking Chief's favorite prospect.

The more I think about I'm wondering if its worth trying to get that 3rd pick. Having Chytil and Zadina on the same line at their age could be awesome.
Just wonder if the cost would be way too high. |

I would respectfully pass on that, given Greiss' contract. We are seeking either a more established veteran or a promising young goaltender. - eichiefs9
Reimer is established. It's just that he's established himself as not being all that good. |

Jokes aside, I have to think Grubauer is the guy they're going to go hard after anyway. Great stats in limited action playing behind Holtby. Young and cost-controlled. He's my top choice. |

Looking back at what BOS traded Martin Jones to SJS for...probably a first and a B(ish) level prospect
Jones was traded for what turned out to be the 29th overall pick and Sean Kuraly.
I would imagine the Islanders offer 12th overall for Jones, straight up. After a negotiation, I could honestly see them maybe tossing in Dal Colle. WSH's upside is that if he gets his act together and figures it out, he's a 5th overall pick that could provide some value to them. And if not, they still got the 12th overall pick out of it...which is pretty good given the fact that they probably can't afford to sign Grubauer at all. |
