I just don't see what purpose it would serve. Neither have any real experience at wing and Brassard at 4C just won't happen. I think he'd request a trade before it did.
Yes though, I agree, having an above average 3C(basically a legit 2C) locked up would be nice. I just wonder what Brassard would cost to extend. - Rinosaur
Yeah I don't know how good Brassard is at wing but I'm just going off other reporters saying he can also play wing.
I see almost no way we'd be able to retain Ellis though so you're talking about trading Letang at that point... |

Yup and I don't know that Ellis, as good as he is, is a good replacement for Letang. Josi on the other hand is, but there's no way that's happening. |

While I understand the rationale and hesitation....it's hard to hear balking at trading someone like Kempe when youre discussing a top 10 scorer on a very reasonable contract.
Pearson and Martinez are both good players but there's just not enough motivation to trade Kessel for that, unless you're throwing in Vilardi or Clague, imo. - YouMeAndDupuis9
Understandable, that’s why I don’t think there’s a match here, unfortunately. I’d love kessel... but not for basically the untouchable prospects in Vilardi and clague. Way too much upside in those two. They are only prospects though. |

What's the next move to replace what lose you in Kessel? Because if you make that trade all we'll hear all year is we need a legit goal-scoring top six winger. |

Yes... him and Martinez actually are possibly the ones to get moved for fwd help... Pearson and possibly toffoli have been mentioned as a probable package to get a good fwd... again, kessel would be amazing. |

Not gonna lie. It may be possible. Couple years ago kings fans would laugh at you but there’s a very good source that knows some ins and outs of the kings in Jon hoven on Twitter. I don’t know if that’s the package that could land kessel but something like it. He says it’s real possible he could be part of a deal.... should be exciting summer for kings fans as well as other teams fans. Sounds like some wheelin and dealin May go down |

I personally don't believe Kessel gets moved. If I had to guess, it's probably one or both of Sheary and Hagelin that get moved. I reallllly don't want to move Kessel, but Muzzin + Toffoli would be pretty hard to turn down, especially if you guys take Hunwick back.
What both Muzzin and Toffoli would bring IMO make the team better as a whole.
EDIT:
If I were the kings, I wouldn't be looking to make a trade. I'd be going all in for JVR or Kovalchuk. |

You posted when it was 1-0. If that means a team has "solved" a goalie, you should be measuring your own IQ. |

Well if a goalie is looking shaky after the Caps have put bodies in front of Flower & he's having trouble, I'd agree that the Caps have put in a plan to make life difficult for flower. That is solving a problem.
Well that's according to a professional being paid to call the game. But wait, I should take your unprofessional view of hockey. And low & behold a 'squeaky' goal & it's 2-0. |

The difference is the goalie you said was "solved" had only let in one goal and made tons of crazy saves.
Nice try though. |

Keep arguing to try & discredit what I said. It's futile. Firstly I said (for the moment), & has Flower been shaky & fighting the puck? Rebounds? Not his usual solid self?
Finally goes out & gives a penalty away. That sounds a sign that he's feeling pressured in the game. Caps putting lots & lots & lots of PRESSURE' on him. Great game plan - it's 2-0. If it was 0-0 then I would agree that Caps haven't solved anything.
So pleeeeeeeease, stick to putting up trades as I for 1 don't listen to anything about hockey that you say!
If you want to, ring up the Washington commentators & tell them they were wrong to say (at that time), the Caps had solved Flower. |

How am I changing my comment?
You're not commenting. You're parroting what they're saying. - Rinosaur
So I comment about a period of time hence my 'at the moment', & you comment implying I'm wrong (that after saying I'm commenting off the box score). Now you comment about the series. Mate you either can't or don't understand written text or are just plain in denial.
I'm commenting off what I hear. Now are you implying nobody is allowed to repeat what a commentator - a professional paid to do a job, says? Even without that, Flowers actions giving away the penalty is a sign he's off.
Good on you, you keep this up, I'll go back to listening to the game while i have to paint. (not sure which is worse, having to paint or your hockey IQ) |
