Why can't both be true.
There were moments, too many moments, where Andersen poop the bed against Boston.
Game 7 was not all Gardiner's fault. Yeah he had a poopty game, but Andersen did also and when your goalie has a poopty game it becomes really easy to pick apart mistakes by the whole team because too many of them are ending up in the back of your net. - Aetherial
The tying goal and the go ahead goals in the third would have been stopped bya junior goalie, killed any momentum the team had. |

You can't kill what's already dead.
The Leafs came out flatfooted in the 3rd. Blame lies on all of them for that collapse. |

I think they move Gardiner because he is going to make too much on his next contract to make the warts in his game acceptable. It is really just financial. - Aetherial
Not sure Leafs can move Gardiner.
There aren't too many teams in need for a offensive D-men with huge leaks on the defensive side of the game - leaks that can be 'covered for' by a real #1 Dman.
Probably the only team that woudl be a fit are the Montreal Canadiens (to play with Weber).
Not sure if the Leafs would do that - apart from Galchenyuk and Gallagher, I don't really see any interesting assets, apart from this year's 1st rounder.. |

Maybe, but without those 2 goals the team could have got their feet moving again.

Really, Gallagher?
He gets away with so much shyte but put a blue and white jersey on him and the Leafs become the most penalized team in the league. |

Is that 1 of the goals where Jake let him shoot from the top of the crease and took the body instead of just stick checking him?
If so...not too sure. |

It really didn't matter, we all knew the Leafs weren't good enough to go deep into the playoffs anyway.
I don't understand all of the hatred for Andersen here, he kept the Leafs in it all season long. Put a decent D in front of him and I think his performance will be greatly improved. |

Don't think the return would be huge, but at $4 Mil a d-man that was tied for 15th in scoring can be moved. The return should be a prospect and a late first rounder. Come on, his ass-hair scores more than Tanev, and the Nucks have traded Tanev for Matthews and McDavid plus. |

right on Bobrovskiy
right on Vasilevskiy
right on Holtby
right on Reimer & Andersen
right on Bernier
will be right on Woll
will be right on Samsonov
I'll give you another one that will be NHL starter in a few years: Dan Vladar (Boston) - MaximusAurelius
Why do you think so highly of this guy? Have you watched him at all (other than a few games during WJC), or are you just going by stats you see? Just wondering...
I obviously hope he does pan out to be a great goalie. But Goalies are so inconsistent it's hard to get a good idea on how they will be/do. |

I think Gardiner has fair trade value.
I just don't see alot of teams that could use his particular skill set.. |

Well they should have gotten past Boston, sure the reffing didn't help but putting it all on Gardiner isn't correct. |

I probably haven't seen much more than most of you.
Still, I think he's going to become a really good NHL starting goalie.
Same with John Gibson a few years ago before being drafted - was clear he was going to be a top NHL goalie. |

Kadri's 3 games cost the series more than anything else. You can blame whatever you like on that but it is really on Kadri not to make stupid plays. |
