I think he has two more years before that becomes a concern. If he isn’t signed by 2020, I think he becomes a FA like Butcher, Kerfoot, etc. For example, Vesey was drafted in 2012 and became a free agent July 2016. Fox was drafted in 2016, so thinking 2020 is the end date.

Dont think so. Fox is tracking nicely as a top D & we arent concerned about an Erixon scenario. Why would we settle for a 2nd rounder in a meh draft? Now if we are talking Brodie & Fox for Zibby, then we have something to talk about.

Yup 2 more years & he wanted to finish his 3rd year like Gaudreau did & all indications from interviews seems like he wants to be ready to pursue his hockey career. Now if he doesnt sign this time next year, we may get a bit concerned.

Why not!! We were good enough last year. Just seemed like everything that could go wrong, did. Injuries to key guys. I expect us to be in playoffs. We’ve refilled cupboard. As mentioned a real good core of guys that are just hitting their prime. I think signing Tavares will make us cup comtrnders

And that’s why they made the decision to do what they did. As I said, they where good enough to get in if they wanted. If they sign Tavares, you don’t think they’d have to be considered a top contender?

Calgary has definitely traded a bushel of draft picks, they dont even have a 2nd rounder next year

I think Rangers and Flames will be chattin' at the draft regardless if Fox name is included
