Joel Farabee is committed to BU and I would certainly think David Quinn played a part in recruiting him, something to keep in mind.

I haven't watched too many Isles games this year, so can't say for sure, but I've heard JT has Pavel Bure's knees. If that's the case, I don't want to sign him to the contract he's looking for. Lou was brought in by the owners to make sure he stays on LI. I don't see him going anywhere.
The next expansion draft is going to make contracts really interesting.

Lou is 75 and not a miracle worker. Not sure what he can do. They gave up most goals in league last year. 2 of their Dmen are UFA. If they give Tavares an 8 year deal over 10 mil, how are they signing Kovy? Where is the defense and goalie upgrades coming from? And why would Kovy go there? As far as JT, he’s coming off an 82 game season where he scored 84 points. Not sure where the rumors about his knees come from. He’s only a year older than Hayes. Signing him would give us one of the strongest teams down the middle in league. Also allows us to bridge Hayes. He’ll be odd man out in a year or 2 with Chytil and Anderson developing into full time guys

Assistant coaches are going to be important. I am curious to see who will be brought in specifically to work with all of our young defensemen.

In Gorton we trust, Tavares or bust...

Quinn was a defenseman during his playing days. I think that’ll be biggest change on team. A focus on D zone coverage and quick exits out. Offensively, he seems to have a lot of same as AV. He likes to roll 4 skilled lines. Speed!

From who? He missed significant time one year, when he hurt his knee at the Olympics, and that was four years ago

Ran into a friend that used to post on your board last weekend. Sometimes I have to step back and consider the source.

With his background as D, who is he going to bring in as assistants? The whole complexity of this team is about to change.

Scrapping the hybrid man-to-man/zone defensive system where no one seemed to know what to do, especially behind the net, will be a good first start. I don’t expect New York to utilize this system under Quinn

Lou was brought in to give the team a kick in the ass to show JT they're serious, and maybe to mentor his son into taking over in a few years? My thought is that Kovy wants to go to a contender sooner rather than later.

You would think, but sometimes wife happiness and city is more important to some players...which is why NY is always brought up w/ FAs

Good point.
There is also the possibility that we make the playoffs next year during the hopefully short rebuild. Not saying we go far, but it is a possibility.

Good core of Kreids, Hayes, Zucc, Shat, Hank etc. Mix that with some of the kids, FA's, minus AV, plus Quinn, who knows?
I'm just getting excited ahead of the season.

Gotta admit I am excited too. But I was also kind of excited when they hired Trottier.

Good guy, but a bit hyperbolic sometimes.
