He's a (frank)ing bum. The only thing he's ever been good at is hitting and now he can't do that to save his life.
The Jays should trade for Ryan Goins.
At least when he doesn't hit we know he'll still be the best defensive player in baseball. - GreatGigInTheSky
but there is little chance he hits at all.. At Least Travis will at some point

I'm a believer in just getting rid of a player like that is worth whatever you can get back. Should have removed him 2 years ago. |

Travis has been often injured and an injured player isn't worth anything to a team. Even for the 20 games they might play a year. |

It is more than the system. Easy money and power, not only corrupts those with reasonably good intent, it attracts the most unsavory humans imaginable. - winsix
This is nonsensical bullpoop. Seriously, it's just intellectual laziness.
Have you ever actually met a politician? Have you ever interacted with one?
It's a job that quite frankly I wouldn't want.
The pay isn't great, the hours are horrendous, and sadly, the level of personal attacks on politicians is rising in Canada.
Are there douchebags? Without a doubt. But they are the rare exception. Simply put, you can't become a political leader without having good people skills.
As for corruption, well, that's also few and far between. Definitely Mulroney. And David Livingston (hint: not a part of the Wynne government) was charged with...wait for it...unauthorized use of a computer and attempting to commit mischief to data. That's a little underwhelming.
But it's now an easy narrative to just label all politicians are stupid, lazy and corrupt. A lazy narrative. |

Travis should not be in the majors;
IMO, the Jays should trade Travis, Martin and Morales for whatever they can get and play:
C: Maile
1B: Smoak
2B: Solarte
3B: Donaldson
SS: Urena
RF: Teoscar Hernandez
CF: Pillar
LF: Granderson(for now, as everyone else is injured).
DH: Pearce (when he gets back from injury)

Politicians are torn between their personal beliefs, commitments to their constituents, and party loyalty (which is pretty much non-negotiable for anybody that actually relies on their political position for a paycheck). It's probably not easy having to decide between putting food on the table and standing up for one's convictions.

or not..the Jays record is around what it was the last 4 seasons.
2015 23-30
2016 27-26
2017 26-27
2018 25-28
I agree its a longer shot this year. But baseball is nothing like hockey |

that's what really sucks;
I don't mind Martin, I just wish his batting average would be closer to .200. The $20M per season is only bad because he can no longer hit a baseball.. |
