Unless Dahlin shifts to the right - and actually even if he did your depth on the right without Risto is Bogo and Nelson. Nobody, and I mean nobody, wants to see Bogo on the top pair
- jcragcrumple

I specified long run didn’t I ? Not immediate short term. Dobson/Bouchard will be top 4 d-men in this league like Risto. And Klefbom is a established top 4 LHD. You would be trading Risto for two top 4 D.

Like I said don't ever...

And this in from Sportsnet’s Mark Spector on Klefbom’s bad season and trade status: “Oscar Klefbom has been a disaster from start to finish.”

On Oilers Now, Spector said: “Of all the players who have had poor seasons — I’m not saying he’s had the worst season or it’s all his fault, that’s not what I’m saying — I’m saying the loss of Oscar Klefbom’s game has crippled this team the most. He is their No. 1 defenceman. He’s supposed to be a guy who scores goals and makes things happen on the power play. He’s got one power play goal all year. Just scored his first goal in 34 games.”

Spector spoke glowingly about Klefbom as a person and as a team player, but said it’s all about health with the player. “Is he ever healthy? Give me a time when he’s healthy. We’re well into a career here and the guy is hurt every single year. It’s not going to get easier to play. It’s going to get harder. He’s not going to get younger.”

If the right trade offer came, Spector said of Klefbom: “I’d absolutely move him…. His track record is he’s hurt too much. I’d move him.”

Hurt too much, who does that sound like some want to crucify?

Like 2-3 games

Why would we trade for another center that isn't as good and a mid-first? It's a lateral move at best

I just don't see the value in that at all. I would immediately be looking to trade him and #12 for a good winger again

- jcragcrumple

IMO, he is (at least offensively considering his ES totals) and will get better.

Risto stays healthy and produces on a cruddy team. He eats minutes, too many minutes which cuts down on his production. BTW Hamilton is kind of a bush league beat reporter compared to SportsNet.

you clearly don't know sportsnet then. Beat reporters are beat reporters all the same. And he called Risto uncoachable, id say thats up there with injury prone, no?

Sportsnet guy said Girardi was better than Karlsson. Same ones who thought Hall was a problem child and that Larsson would save them. Oops.

The injuries are tangible, the speculation that Risto is a wiener is an opinion of another wiener.

he played 66 this year and 82 games last year. He's no iron man but that's 90 percent of the games played over the last two years.

Well, I've invested enough time on a guy named Klefbom who bombed last year.

Traded ROR for Wing/D help

Sign Stastny for 2 Years at 6.5MM

- ImThatGuy

Stastny is going to sign in Buffalo short term because he likes being close to Niagara falls?

Likes the underdog role of a 31st team?
Likes the Sabres because they were in the Adam's division against his dad and uncle?

Otherwise he isnt signing here

No reason. He already wasn't using up a roster spot as the article states. Should have let him sit, I think it shows that the Bills can be pushed around by their players. He would have retired a Bill if it was up to me, against his will.

Richie Incognito told the Bills he wants to unretire, per source, which is why Buffalo released him from its Reserve/Retired list. Bills and Incognito both moving on - Incognito with hope of playing somewhere else.
