Oh for sure. I just wonder if there's a budget team out there that wants to get to the floor - or isn't worried about hitting the cap - that would be interested in him because he's still good, and they're paying him "only" 6 mil in real dollars.

The only catch is, who pays the recapture penalty when he retires in 5 years? I don't know the answer to that

It’s the large discrepancy that’s bothersome & doesn’t make much sense
Imo anyways

Bc here’s the thing...
-his peers, GMs & Coaches, and even analytics experts all for the most part agree that ROR is a really good player
Then there’s ppl on here who act like he’s “replaceable” bc his 5v5 stats with Pouliot & a terrible Okposo for half the year weren’t good
Oh yeah, and he’s a “bad leader”
Whatever that means

So yeah...
i guess i just take issue with the handful on here who undervalue him since literally just about all the “experts” (again, that’s the stat guys, NHL players and the coaches/gms) view him otherwise

- jdfitz77

I'm trying to be nice here. I've shown you a very good illustration of work that values RoR very highly, but also shows how slightly altering your weights drops him significantly.

You continue to say that analytics experts agree, when they don't. I've shown you why. Most of the other things you toss into the argument aren't relevant to me. The distinction between a fringe first liner and good second liner should not bother you this much.

Saute it and place a steak on top of is after searing all sides(season the steak with garlic powder, black pepper, and salt).

10-15 mins in the oven @ 200 (10 for rare, 15 for rare side of mid-rare)

Rosemary is a very strong herb,
just gotta not use too much

I use it on chicken, turkey, beef stew, potatoes, etc
Just gotta not overdo it
Otherwise it’ll dominate the other flavors

I was under the impression that ror was wearing an 'A' for team canada

So McDavid is irrelevant because hes playing in a loser tournament?
The same tournament guys that are getting eliminated from the playoffs are flying over to join.

Why have the event then?

- Boss34

Where did I say anyone was Irrelevant? The tournament holds no meaning in regards to anything NHL. Who wears the C and A is very much irrelevant.

I don't see him retiring so he'd go out like Pronger if injured.

In a f)(*^ tournament nobody F)(* cares about.

You know why He is the A there, because other players decided they did not want to play in the stupid tournament and better players are still playing in the NHL playoffs.

- ImThatGuy

That's your opinion.
You are arguing your opinion vs. Facts.

He is an alternate captain. He was chosen over other nhl players on that team.

Captains are chosen based on leadership

I bet the next CBA will just forgive everyone for everything. That's my guess.

Fresh starts all around!

He's not a leader on this bad team, but he's a leader on the best team in the world

He's getting old, but tavares is older

He's signed for 5 more years, but we should sign tavares for 7

He's not a good scorer, Tavares had 63 points last year

He's overpaid, but we should pay Tavares $11m

I think that covers it

When ROR wears an A in the Olympics then you have a leg to stand on

When he wears it in the World Championship where Tim Kennedy (when he was a Sabre) went to play in then you're reaching

Also his after practice practices stopped.

He failed as a leader in Buffalo, I couldn't care less if he wears an A for team Canada at the World Championships.

Also you know how he scored that GWG? McDavid did all the work, ROR just stood there. So stop with that.

Fact is he is a 2nd line center that is overpaid by 2 million per year. Move him while you can.

It's been done, quite eloquently by Broads. I understand he's had far superior seasons to ROR, but people love to talk about ROR's warning signs.

Is 63 points for Tavares not a warning sign that perhaps paying that player $11m for 7 years is a bad idea?

Well spoken, might I add:

His value is mid-late first rounder

Face offs don't matter

International hockey tournaments are full of nhl losers

He plays so much anyone would score 61 points with his ice time

He's an old 27 year old. Starting to depreciate

He is not a leader, and after practice practices are a sign of being content and being a quitter

Not quit, lost his love for it, which Botts said most players probably felt, but none voiced it
