if the Devils learned anything from their first round exit.....it is that they need to grow a set of nuts! Severson plays too soft to be effective in the playoffs. It is almost as if each team has to have a "regular season" unit and a "playoff" unit! The Devils need to get some grit...and Severson could just be the best asset to move in order to make that happen.

The only defense that would make sense is Nurse imo. But...I think Severson has more value.

Also, someone else said it, but I mentioned it before as well, if they are looking to trade him Karlsson would make a lot of sense to target.

I wouldn't give Klefbom for Severson straight up despite their similarities. Both are two-way guys with a valuable set of talents that allow them to contribute on offense on great contracts but are rather soft as far as "hard-area defending" go. They also had similarly awful, sub-30 GF% years when apart from their team's star drivers. The two factors leaning in Klefbom's favour are his willingness to use his shot (particularly at 5-on-5) and his great top pair showing last year- a sort that Severson has never really shown.

How have his stretch passes and breakouts developed? Haven't really got to see much of him the past year.
