EVERYBODY JUST CALM DOWN

I made an honest assessment of Lyon given my viewing of him the last couple of seasons at both levels. He is not more than average in both size and athleticism, and I doubt either of those things change that much in the near future, which means for him to be a valuable member of the Flyers he will need to rely on the other attributes in his game.

Does anyone think a trade with Detroit would be possible to get the rights for Athanasiou? I think he might be a decent option for the 3rd line C.

Detroit looks to have some cap issues, but I really don't follow them enough to know if they'll be able to make things work. Only 14 on the roster listed for next year and ~$18M in space to work with (at current cap ceiling). You'd think they'll need to move some contracts

So what do we give them? I don't think they'll move him for a 2nd and I personally wouldn't move a 1st for him. I also have zero interest in taking back any of their crap contracts to make a trade work. Been there. Done that.

Well, you could easily offer sheet him for a 2nd, but I doubt that'll happen. Again, I have no idea what Det's plan is for re-signing their FAs/RFAs, or how much of a priority he is. I'm awful with trade evaluations, so I'm not even going to go there.

Yeah, I like the guy but not enough to take on one of their crap contracts. Depending on how much Detroit is willing to move up, I’d be willing to part with the 19th pick For Athanasiou and Detroit’s 2nd, which I believe is pick #37.

its still super weird seeing/hearing fleury like this.

also i dont know if the jets are really THAT good but they literally look like they can do whatever they want out there at any moment. so many skilled guys with size on that team. the vegas magic may be running out.

even washingtons trap thing they have going on. its hard to not see winnipeg break it. they can skate through you or simply dump and chase it and simply take it from you.

Ugh Derrick pouliot at eight overall was such a (frank)ing nightmare. Would have been great to go trouba.
