I'm so happy for MAF, but there's no way of knowing if he would have had the same season here that he had in Vagas. He was agreat Penguin and a great teammate, but unless the team was going to be willing to expose Murray (which would have been a silly thing to do) there was no way to keep him. And truth be told, I think he needed a fresh start as much as anything. He gets to be THE GUY, not only in net, but also as the face of that franchise. He is flourishing and its great to see.

Go Pens!!!

I'm stoked for Fleury too. It IS possible to root for both tendies to be successful.

Maf played just as well for the pens...the pens have always played below average defense. It's become rather clear what happens to this team without fluery and what happens for fluery when he has a responsible team in front of him.

If the Pens can get back to the strong defensive hockey that got them through last years playoffs they will win the cup.
If they keep taking stupid unnecessary risks (LETANG!) tonight will be their last night of hockey until next season.

I agree with this to a degree although I don't think they took a ton of unnecessary risks last game. I didn't think Dumo's rush that led to the game winning goal was too much of a risk if the forward and Letang play that better.

I honestly think it comes down to depth scoring and Murray making a couple big saves like he has in the past. Sheary, Rust, Brass, Sheahan, Hags etc... We need some goals from someone else......Like Kuni, Cullen and Bones would score.

Oh, and Sully needs to get Simon off of Sid's line. He has no business on the top line.

I'm not going to trash Murray. He's been very good the last couple of years, but MAF was constantly hung out to dry under Disco.

Backstrom is out apparently. He had a pretty significant wrap/cast on his hand.

I just watched footage of him walking into arena with the wrap on his hand and wrist.. He can't move his thumb or fingers in it.. Almost looks like a wrap over a cast.

I’m more concerned with the timing of the risks. Dumo was fine, there was support, Kessels lunacy is what I have a problem with. Letang is going too deep in the offensive zone too often, he isn’t needed to score goals, he’s needed to prevent them.

Hornqvist needs to be back on the top line.
Put Kessel back with Malkin and Hags
