Style? probably 500 of his 600+ are one-timers from the left circle.

The fact that he consistently puts up 40-50 goals in an era where the disparity between athletes is at its smallest, the goalies don't wear phone books as pads, and they are easily the best goaltenders in history, he is at 600 goals in his career, and has a legit chance at catching Gretzky for all-time career goals if he plays till he's 40'ish.

Connor Sheary, 2 goals in his last 34 playoff games. Just figured I'd get that out of the way.

Stop. I'm sorry, but Ovechkin could not hold either Mario's or Gretzky's jock in that department. If I need a goal to save the world, Mario is my guy. If you want to say best goal scorer of the Cap Era, I'm down with that, but best in history. Not even close.

Its hard to compare across eras, but its important to keep in mind eras nevertheless.
