Thommie Bergman is a very underrated scout. - AdamFrench
(frank), even Engvall is look decent.
Not many teams have found 6th/7th round picks out of Europe that turn out to be very productive at the pro level. |

Don't see Leafs trading Nylander - unless in the unlikely scenerio that Leafs are either successful at landing JT this summer (only slightly better chance than Lowry hitting an important 3-pointer) or a trade for an exceptional young RHD is available. - winsix
I really hope they don't trade Nylander.. I was just trying to poke fun at Frenchy's post.. |

Bracco at this point is a smurf. He is 10-15 lbs away from being an NHLer, but you are correct, he has to have ice time not to mention some serious weight training.
I also think Borgman showed some jam, and Lilegren has good upside.
The biggest thing we need are centres in the pipeline. The Goat, Aaltonen, Brooks etc are not third line guys. I think that is what they will focus on at the draft this year. - Rang
He looked really good in the 2nd half, he needs another year.
But he's the type of player who could be a boom or bust in the NHL. He has a lot of tools, if he's placed with a star I think he flourishes.
But yes, a C is a need. Some of these wingers will be traded. Plus a goalie. |

Makes me wonder if they might target Jonatan Berggren with either the first or second.

so Leafs end up with 25th pick. Unless there is an obvious player available (no idea who that is) maybe Merkley, similar to lilygrin.. high risk high reward type, I would trade down again. get more lotto tickets - senstroll

Weirder things have happened. Can't see him falling out of the second in a draft so weak at forward and so heavy on d. |

May be a good reason to make a deal the Rangers for #25 plus #55 for #30 and #39

Nothing so far screams. You can't question him.
comparably nothing stands out to me, Dermott was a good move. But if they stuck and picked Konecny that wouldnt have been bad either.
We dont have anything yet that tells us he is any better or worse than any other teams - senstroll
But if they had kept the pick in the 1st they would have just selected Dermott with it.
Good move to get more, plus the guy you wanted anyways. |

i think the question is more whether he has proven to be way better than other scouts (or even 'random picks').
if you add up the # of picks in the drafts Hunter was involved in (discounting the first round picks of Marner and Matthews obviously) - does it seem that Hunter is doing significantly better? - MaximusAurelius
As much as you, me, and a few others were always on the Marner train, most people weren't. So I think credit should absolutely be given for the Marner selection. |
