Lou is under contract until June 30th; Maybe they haven't announced it because there is no need to?

Lou wasn't fired, it's ok to let his contract run out.

I wouldn't worry about Lou, Hunter though is a different matter. How would you feel they announce Dubas and Hunter is sitting at another team's table?

A seven game series is not a true test of talent.

The Capitals got lucky.

The Penguins are the better team...or something.

I'm not sure if he intentionally misspells names anymore.

Maybe not the PK just yet, but I agree.

I'm not sure it's very good to prop up The Bozek (as a PP specialist) to dump Matthews (best player on the team). Reminds me of the Blackhawks killing Kane by taking away Panarin to prop up Toews with former "chemistry" with Saad.

Excellent, the Leafs are gonna trade Nylander to get a better winger for Bozak..

Even if Dubas is named the GM, Hunter is still under contract. Is he gonna resign and hope another team takes him?

Any move is up for debate. This draft is especially deep in d-men. It is a big drafting opportunity. Tumbleweed mentioned moving down would not be the worst thing. Looking over the d-men available, he might be right. Rangers have three picks in the first round, getting a late first rounder and an early first rounder would be ok.

RHD - Merkley, Lundqvist, Woo
LHD - Alexeyev, Samuelsson, Tychonick, Ginning, Miller, Sandin and Bahl

This could be a draft to really show his value.

Nothing so far screams. You can't question him.
comparably nothing stands out to me, Dermott was a good move. But if they stuck and picked Konecny that wouldnt have been bad either.

We dont have anything yet that tells us he is any better or worse than any other teams

I wouldn't imagine he would be looking too long for work.

Marlies are dominating

They have a good pipeline down there, with Korshkov coming over next year, something has to give. They can't have Bracco sitting

Its still early but Carl Grundstrom looks like a solid pick so far..

maybe not, but I don't think the Leafs/Shanahan would release him, just because he may or may not get a chance elsewhere.

Don't see Leafs trading Nylander - unless in the unlikely scenerio that Leafs are either successful at landing JT this summer (only slightly better chance than Lowry hitting an important 3-pointer) or a trade for an exceptional young RHD is available.

i think the question is more whether he has proven to be way better than other scouts (or even 'random picks').

if you add up the # of picks in the drafts Hunter was involved in (discounting the first round picks of Marner and Matthews obviously) - does it seem that Hunter is doing significantly better?

I think both conditions need to be met for Nylander to be traded:
1/ Leafs sign Tavares
2/ Nylander traded for an young exceptional RHD

The pipeline looks good, and he did it with mid/late picks as well. Dermott is a sure thing. That's all we can say right now.

Bracco at this point is a smurf. He is 10-15 lbs away from being an NHLer, but you are correct, he has to have ice time not to mention some serious weight training.
I also think Borgman showed some jam, and Lilegren has good upside.
The biggest thing we need are centres in the pipeline. The Goat, Aaltonen, Brooks etc are not third line guys. I think that is what they will focus on at the draft this year.

thats just it. I would need to see that he is outperforming most teams in the % of NHL players uncovered to be able to say Yes he is one of the best and you cant quesiton his value to the Leafs

Agreed - how about Jonsson at pick number 202 by Nonis and company?
