First off - the bolded is cute.

Second - I love how you know what Thornton, Kovalchuk, Jagr, and Tavares sign for.

Third - Poile isn't leaving Nashville

Fourth - I suggest you put down the crack pipe

If vegas wins cup.....explain a need for a 5 yr rebuild ?who needs big money players ? actually it makes the league a joke. serves the league and all hockey fan snobs right.
- ziffles

Well it's the fact they got a lot of "big money players" prior to signing them to big money. Marrsachault just signed for 5 million a year kicking in next season I believe.

Two things teams learned during this process:

1. Starting from a blank slate or as close as possible to a blank slate, aka "scorched earth". Is most ideal.

2. GMs won't be making as many side deals with Seattle as they did with Vegas. I don't think Columbus or another team trades a 1st rounder so to take Clarkson type of contract and another player.

Man seeing the Bruins lose in 5 games bugs me so much. Makes me feel even more like the Leafs were their own biggest issue in the first round and not the Bruins so much.

Ah well. Now we can cheer on Vegas together.

I know you're hungover after that deserved loss yesterday, but please don't act it out on me..

btw, i tuned in for last period on nhl.com, just to see that bruins loss yesterday. was hoping to get those two annoying bruins commentators to make the watching experience even better, but unfortunately that feed wasn't available..
what channel are they normally on??

- MaximusAurelius

They played like dog poop and Tampa played excellently. They didn't deserve to win so it is what it is and am not mad about it so therefore can't really take anything out on anyone.

What I can do is point out how unrealistically stupid your propositions are and clearly I am not alone. There's no sense in arguing with someone who thinks Nylander alone lands you Seth Jones and thinks that that package of misfit toys gets you Erik Karlsson.

They couldn't just end us in 6 instead for the sake of my pool?

I've done some calculations, and salaries all just fit under the cap.
Thornton, Kovalchuk, Jagr and Tavares all UFAs.
Grubauer RFA.
We trade Nylander for Seth Jones.

And we trade rights to JVR, 1st round pick, Johnsson, Gardiner and Matt Martin to Ottawa for Karlsson.

+ we have to give up a 2nd rounder for Poile eventually.

But seems like a great plan!

- MaximusAurelius

So you are purposely trying to make the team slower with old players most teams dont want (jagr, kovulchuk)?
As for your trades....well its good to dream

Come on man, Carlson broke out at 23/24. Like most D man. I don't care how many points he had at 20-23. Same with Reilly.

He had 55 points at 24
39 points in 55 GAMES at 25
37 points in 72 at 26
68 points in 82 games at 27

He had one semi down year. This notion he is a 30-40 point d man is laughable. You guys are like UG saying teams from 5-10 years ago are relevant.

- Santo_44

Take is easy on your assignment of UG territory, people are allowed their own opinions.

I disagree with him being the answer for 7M per year, simple as that. He's 28, and had a career year on his contract year, that is always suspicious. I never said he was awful, but 7M for him, id pass.

I'd expect nothing less from you.

I'd rather argue with a wall. It has better odds of formulating a concrete argument.

Agreed, should have known not to expect much from your goddamn team!

They showed a footage on RDS of Chara looking pretty fed up with Marchand's stupid antics.

As good a player he is, he's hurting his team more than he's helping them when he acts that way.

If you argue with Max, all he'll do is stick one finger from each hand, in each ear and repeat "Jagr, Jagr, Jagr" over and over again.

Much better luck with the concrete wall argument.

I'm (frank)ing sick of it too. Just play the game and stop disrespecting your own team by pulling this crap. If you want to tarnish your own name go for it, but once you start trudging your team through the mud and making the story about you instead of everyone then there is a serious problem.

Not that his dirty play isn't a serious problem.

Chara had to talk to Marchand and tell him not to lick people. That's funny.. A 41 yr old parent to a 30 yr old petulant child.

That Chara had to do it is one thing. It was the right call as I think every single one of his teamates were embarassed.

I still can't (frank)ing believe the NHL let him do it twice and decided to "just warn him".

What a joke.

If Sean Avery had done something like this, he'd be suspended for life.

Again.
