Pulling the goalie is the dumbest thing to do unless you're down by 2 becuase half the team is afraid to do what they normally would becuase they are worried about the empty net behind them.

Oh and F Letang. Like I said last season and many times over the past 5 years , trade him. He's a schitt defenseman, especially at $7.5 mil.

Fück Phil. Fück Murray more. Fück that 3rd period.
- Thorny87

seriously. you go up and down the lineup and its just ghosts right now.

malkin had some chances but simply didnt convert. but you have absolutely zero chance of scoring when the third and fourth lines are out there. you simply cant win that way when on any given game letang being dressed automatically spots the other team a goal.

im not advocating to pull the plug on murray. he has too large of a sample size of games where he was really good. the truth for him is probably somewhere in the middle. but hes been bad.

and of course it would be maatta absolutely blowing a shot that some posters on this board probably couldve put in.

im done with him.

a lot of guys struggling but hes beyond the worst.

no one on this team can (frank)ing score right now besides the top line. you cant win that way with letang and murray spotting this bullpoop.

LOL kessel. (frank) you dude. honestly this (frank)ing team. i went into this postseason considering it all gravy because of the last two years. but to lose this series the way they did. (frank)ing laughable. brassards a (frank)ing loser. kessel is a hero for the last two years but he doesnt deserve to see the ice right now.

think geno and phil are not 100%, maybe brass as well. add the letang handicap and well, murray has to be near perfect every game. he's hasn't. Caps should finish in six

The largest ghost is in net. Holtby is making Murray look like an amateur.

yeah i defended him for the longest time but ive come around. he was always a high event guy but the gaffes are getting worse and worse and he isnt offsetting it enough with offense.

still. tons of blame to go around. i cant believe brassard. i really cant.

Our lack of defense finally came back to bite us. Still wish Cole were with us. Oh well, not much we can do except try again. Not a great third period for the road team. We took too many gables and Letang had too many brain cramps.

Team played ok...there were 4 absolutely brutal breakdowns and they all end up behind pylon. That bad penalty..the terrible 2nd goal by Murray and two absolutely gross peewee like coverage by letang. Christ we need a goalie that can stop a couple big ones there. I saw a team compete hard get goals from three different lines and sag everytime letang or mur handed goals back.

Gotta ride Murray til the end. And for fvcks sakes pull the plug on Dom Simon. He's a dreadful player. This is Sullivan's dumbest decision as HC.

geno hasnt been terrible. phil has to be hurt. maybe im making excuses for a guy that i like, but hes been so bad that if this is truly what hes doing i dont even know how to account for it. brassard is beyond puzzling to me. he doesnt appear to be physically limited. hes just irrelevant.

i like sheahan a lot too, but he isnt a good enough player to generate tangible offense with corpses. just isnt going to happen for him.

He's like playing Pedro Alvarez at 3rd base late in a game leading by a run.

Sprong should replace Simon or Phil, latter has no chance of happening so yea.... and Murray is dreadful, guy cannot track the puck. Guess we'll see what they got left, just one game at a time

they did have large swaths of this game they played very well with, but as has been said before, its largely perimeter that has no chance of producing quality chances. those kinds of shifts are well and good when you have quality defense and goaltending, but when youre giving up three plus goals a game with regularity you cant have 70 percent of the team have absolutematical possibility of scoring.

and you know what if they made it to tampa and they lost a well fought series then it just is what it is. you cant win every year.

but they (frank)ing had this. dont get me wrong, washington is a good team and its not as though they arent deserving victories. but this team is just finding ways to lose.

you have maybe three or four guys making a positive difference, three or four guys absolutely losing games, and the rest are simply there. its devastating and you cant win that way, especially when your goalie and 1D are in that second clustercuck.

i liked cole and he would definitely help right now, but realistically he would be slotted in over ruwedel, who has actually been pretty useful all things considered.
