Good thing Sprong and his defensive awareness problems isn't around to take game changing penalties.

Screened and a Tip in front are on Murray?
- RoloTahmasee

didnt see the deflection at first, BUT he needs to pull a save in that situation.

Hags is so worried about the pass to OV that Carlson basically walks the blue line and picks his spot
- RoloTahmasee

They've been doing this all series, and it's probably the right call. That much traffic anyone can score though including someone as talented as Carlson.

Saw that coming...

Simon probably saw his last shift with Sid tonight

- Rinosaur

Wonder if that's the case. Simon's penalties have gotten him benched before.

Exactly, they have that idiocy covered already. Plus, Simon is sooooo much better offensively.

Sprong absolutely should have been in over simon. We need more depth scoring afterall.

As for Murray that first goal is a joke because everyone in the building knew it was going high glove and Murray still can't catch up to it. The second one is beyond awful...no excuse ever for a positional goalie have a goal transit through his body. This is a game id have started desmith. Murray admits he thought that shot in game 4 broke his collarbone. He is banged up and needed a day off. At least desmith makes the caps shoot somewhere other than high glove.

If & it's very early at this stage, we lose this game, would bringing in a player such as Sprong be a good idea?

No idea what his reaction to this series would be & hasn't played for how long?

I doubt Sully takes that risk.

Bob Grove was on The Fan today.... They were talking about how unusual it is for a previously scratched player to get in the game because of injury and basically get placed on the 1st line.

I think his words were "I don't get it". Pretty much spot on.

If we go on to drop this series, that penalty by Simon is probably career limiting for a guy on a 2-way contract.

Anyways, time to move on, 2 more periods to play!

Thay have to score on this upcoming PP. Might be a good time to pull Kessel on that first unit. Couldn't hurt. I mean, he seems to be skating better but his shot is still AWOL.

Bigger risk than Simon sabotaging the season? I'd take that chance.

I think you're right about Sully not doing it. Most of us are looking for an offensive spark. Simon had a decent game last time, but he's been invisible before and after that penalty he'll be in a lot of dog houses.

Having Phil out there on the PP is making it too easy for the Caps.

Between Kessel and Simon still playing, it's like Sullivan is the only guy who doesn't get it.

I'm telling you guys, those late period goals, no matter which period, are the worst ones of all. They absolutely just take all the wind out.

100 percent dude.

especially one that soft and thirty seconds after the other one. theyre mentally going through the motions right now.

if this powerplay looks as lethargic as the last one someone needs to be whipped.

I liked what I've seen from Rust in this game. He should be on the 1st line.
