If he doesn't have complete and total autonomy over the roster, draft, and management then it's an utterly pointless hire.

Agreed plus I'm not going to get excited about speculations. Also this needs to happen to Snow as he is walked out of the building.

Man that had to be hard for her as an actress to walk in front of all those people. Snow deserves it

Lena Headey was covered. They used a stand in and put Lena's head on the stand in's body.

Snow deserves to be thrown in a wood chipper feet first.

I agree. I just need a break from being negative about this team. If Lou is hired and nothing changes it’s back to being negative.

Regardless of his possible role (Lou), if they do bring him in we can all take that as a sign that things will be changing. No way this country club exists under a proper NHL exec who used to professionalism. No way Snow continues his overmatched, and underwhelming job.

Hence my point that the country club as we know it, would be no longer.

Only been a coupla decades of zero accountability. To me, Snow was worse than Milbury....which says a lot because Milbury was a joke.

Most importantly, he wasn’t given 12 years to coast and never produce. No other prof organization keeps a back up goalie as GM for 12 years. That’s the biggest joke of it all. You gave him a shot, great, but man oh man.....at what point wasn’t somebody like Ok this guy really is out of his league ?

I have to agree things change if Lou is hired. Lou is not going to put up with any BS after everything he has accomplished and at this stage of his life.

Yep! Lou left the Devils and now maybe the Leafs because he is not going to sit back and watch. Lou wants to be involved and in the trenches.

Moving the bad deals would be great. Casey and Cal I think can be moved. I doubt Ladd could be moved. I’d love to get rid of Gartn, but if that is not possible move him to the business side since he has a business degree.

In your one post you said to this point. You pretty much said they will do nothing for a while now.

Fact is I get your negativity towards the team, I have been a fan of this Team for a long time as well. But by God give some credit to L and M if they do bring Lou in.
It’s a change, whether it neuters Snow which I think it will, or if it will be the same which is the new negative spin on here.( Btw not only you but the majority on here.)
Seems no matter what’s done it isn’t good enough.

Let’s just see what happens and go from there. No sense going back and fourth because you have your opinion and I have mine. Even though I’m always wrong.

- nyisles7

Give me a break so I almost said It?

Let's stop with the , "its never good enough" mantra like Islander fans have no reason to complain. This team deserves every bit of criticism and distrust and if you believe that we should all be thankful for having Lou in some role while retaining Snow in some capacity you can take that crap some place else. The fanbase deserves much, much, much more and if you don't think so I have a hard time calling you a fan yourself. More like a masochist. Hahaha
There is literally no reason for Snow to be here if you're paying him to do nothing like you would like to believe just fire the guy. It makes zero sense the entire NHL and your fan base think you and the team you just bought is an absolite gong show. Theres only one reason to keep Snow on and it's not to bury him in a closet. Firing the guy would be the best, most intelligemt fiscal move at this point. Nobody is buying into this bullshat anymore. I apprecite your positivity but its completely unfounded with no substance. Sorry man it seems blind and please for the love of god stop putting words in my mouth. You get this idea in your head and twist my words to fit your narritive it's (frank)ing nuts

There shouldn't be any leash. Doug was a horrible. If Wieght is still coach then any changes that were made are only cosmetic.
- JimmyP

Bingo. The only reason he would be kept on is because of Snow. There is no other reasoning behind it. Lamoriello would not keep him in we can all agree on that so just more proof that Snow still has control when and if this happens. Islander fans are so desperate for anything positive that they accept this nonsense and make believe it's something it's not. Snow stays, Weight stays, Snow still has control whether Weight has a "short leash" or not that leash should've been cut yeara ago. Oh, that's right didn't Snow and Weight have had short leashes for a couple years now? Is everyone here willing to sacrifice yet another season with a half arsed coach? Givemea(frank)imgbreak some of you guys are sticking your heads in the sand

This is how the majority of the fanbase feels. As soon as they missed for a second straight season, change was expected and demanded by the fanbase and Ledecky and Malkin have given us silence. (Outside of that awful "press conference" which was widely ridiculed by not just the fans but the NHL media as well. Oh, yeah, and that almost as awful letter to the fans from Ledecky where he cited how great they've done with Belmont) And on top of all that he then states that ownership will be evaluating ALL aspects of the hockey team and that he and Malkin have failed as owners, yet never states WHAT exactly they've failed at.
I think all the fanbase wants, (besides Snowjobs head on a platter) is transparency. Too many years of Wang, Milbury and Snowjob had us hoping for a bit of honesty and clarity with L&M and it just hasn't happened for whatever reason.
That has led to a lot of us wanting a clean slate. All or nothing. And, at this point, who could blame them?
Enough is enough and it's time for a change.

- Mancalledsting

Somehow I missed this post.

Yeah, I don't get how you can say you've failed as owners and not fire Snow. What more evaluation do you need? It feels like lip service.
