Ses, your feelings were right. The problem is most on here said NOTHING would be done, so now that there may be changes made it’s not good enough.
Let’s see if Lou agrees to come and what position he takes and how things progress and then we can tell if the change will make a difference or not.

For me I’m tickled pink that if he comes in any copacity The Islanders have a legitimate figure in a management roll for the first time in decades!

- nyisles7

It would take massive stones for Ledecky to walk back into that press conference and say we did the evaluation and decided nothing changes or for Ledecky to hide and pretend the press conference never happened.

I'm not planning the Cup parade, but if Lou comes aboard this is a very good thing. Lou is a serious hockey person and does not do things for show. Any person the Isles hire is not a sure fire no doubt about it choice with no negatives. That includes Lou, Dean, Fitzgerald, or Fenton. Lou would be a fine choice and is familiar with working in the market and still wants to prove something and is a winner.

You said nothing will happen never mind Lou having control. No need to bring Lou here if they don’t give a shat about the on ice product or am I missing something?
- nyisles7

What I said was UP TO THIS POINT they haven't done anything there is a difference before you go running with this bullshat narritive like you always do.

Also, I'll add making lou POH or GM while keeping Snow and thinking he's doing nothing is burying your head in the sand and making believe everything is ok. So in essence they keep snow they're doing nothing IMO. You want to disagree that's fine but I'll be here laughing when shat is exactly the same in December.

Having someone like Lou makes it possible for JT to re-sign. Asbad as things look now. Lou has good pieces to turn this around. If Lou is in charge I hope a new coach is brought in. That could really help things as well.
- ses111

They're not bringing in a new coach if Snow is still here. That will be the first sign that Snow still has some control. Weight will be your coach for 2018-2019. Anyone want to make a wager on that one?

Do you see them hiring Lou, but keeping Weight as the head coach and Snow as either GM or PoHO? I do. To me that would be just as bad as making no changes.
- JimmyP

Exactly and you can bet your arse our failed coach Doug Weight will be here to start the season and Snow will be sitting in the luxury suite with his dock siders and golf shorts drinking a craft beer. That my friend is a sure sign that Snow has some semblance of control. Keeping Doug Weight is not something any new POH or GM would do after his job performance and his inability to simply do anything a coherent coach would do.

You’re probably right, however if they do bring Lou Lam in, we can then know that noones job is safe. For me, it’s the first step at re structuring. While it’s not ideal if Snow still has a title I’ll take the bone they’re throwing because Lou has experience and a winning resume. At this point i just want the ownership to acknowledge this mess, and if they hire Lou Lam they’re doing just that.

I'll say one thing, if Lou does come on, certain people on here are going to have a tough time, as we all know by now, Lou does not put ANYTHING out in the media, and has been known in NJ to take people to the woodshed for letting things out. So patience, which is always the rule on this site will be fun to watch!!!!

I hope you are wrong Cpt. Again no idea why Lou would come if he does not have full control? Lou does not need to prove anything at this point so why would he risk Garth tarnishing his legacy? I would be more worried if the Isles brought in any unproven hockey person with Garth still there. I'll go back to my point that Lou will not play the fool for Garth or anyone else and especially with Lou's kid working for the team.

In your one post you said to this point. You pretty much said they will do nothing for a while now.

Fact is I get your negativity towards the team, I have been a fan of this Team for a long time as well. But by God give some credit to L and M if they do bring Lou in.
It’s a change, whether it neuters Snow which I think it will, or if it will be the same which is the new negative spin on here.( Btw not only you but the majority on here.)
Seems no matter what’s done it isn’t good enough.

Let’s just see what happens and go from there. No sense going back and fourth because you have your opinion and I have mine. Even though I’m always wrong.

Ses, He’s :

I think Lou will be there and hand the reins off to his kid. Those aspects are probably the biggest part of the negotiation I would think. Lou wants to walk into the sunset knowing his kid is set.

As far as Doug Weight he will be on an extremely short leash. You don’t perform with LL your gone.

There shouldn't be any leash. Doug was a horrible coach. If Weight is still coach then any changes that were made are only cosmetic.

I do agree that Lou should replace Doug right off the bat. That would calm any fears that Lou is not in charge and it's the right thing to do bringing in a better coach.

I get any frustration or doubt any fan is feeling, but I really have to think Lou is not going to take this job or any job to be a puppet. Lou could have stayed with the Leafs and do little except for earning a paycheck. I think Lou still wants the action and wants to make a difference. Hopefully this gets done soon and we find out more information.

I can’t disagree with you Jimmy. I am just saying I don’t think he will be canned until and if Lou comes in and has a chance to evaluate the whole team, top to bottom.
Let’s also remember that Chris has been part of the organization and I’m sure he will feed Daddy Lou his interpretations and opinions on all the personel involved.

Let’s sit back and see how this all plays out. Really should be an exciting time for the fan base even mentioning a possibility of LL joining the Islanders.

Its not. We've had far too many years hoping things would be different. I won't get excited until I see concrete fundamental changes. Everyday they keep Snow is an insult to the fans.

This is how the majority of the fanbase feels. As soon as they missed for a second straight season, change was expected and demanded by the fanbase and Ledecky and Malkin have given us silence. (Outside of that awful "press conference" which was widely ridiculed by not just the fans but the NHL media as well. Oh, yeah, and that almost as awful letter to the fans from Ledecky where he cited how great they've done with Belmont) And on top of all that he then states that ownership will be evaluating ALL aspects of the hockey team and that he and Malkin have failed as owners, yet never states WHAT exactly they've failed at.
I think all the fanbase wants, (besides Snowjobs head on a platter) is transparency. Too many years of Wang, Milbury and Snowjob had us hoping for a bit of honesty and clarity with L&M and it just hasn't happened for whatever reason.
That has led to a lot of us wanting a clean slate. All or nothing. And, at this point, who could blame them?
Enough is enough and it's time for a change.

Well that’s your choice of course. But Lou’s not coming without having control or the final say. He’s not coming here to let Snow or anyone else make decision on his behalf or under his watch. For me it makes no sense. My opinion of course but let’s see if it happens first and then we can see where it goes from there.

Absolutely 100% correct. You would think that any NHL Fan Base would be excited having LL part of the organization. I get the disenchantment of the fan base but if LL comes let’s give it a chance for crying out loud before we call it a non event or failure.

If he doesn't have complete and total autonomy over the roster, draft, and management then it's an utterly pointless hire.
