You should know by now it takes more than a couple great players to push a franchise.

Talent, chemistry, culture, consistency. Everyone top to bottom needs to build this thing right. Got a great feeling about Botts but the fun has just begun.

First on the agenda should be exorcising the me first agenda in that room. Then comes the baggage.

There's not excuse not to be perennial contenders for the next 10 years. Especially if we get SJ 1st next year and add 2 first round picks to the barn along with our high 2nd rounder this year. The depth is building and the prospects will have all the time they need to get NHL ready.

Get the 1st pick and selecting Dahlin will be the catalyst the team needs to change the loser mentality. I'd bet they come out of the gate fly next season. Might not sustain it all year, but we'll be seeing a different team on the ice.

Like I said it’s just not a place for young people in my opinion ..

When I get married and have kids I will definitely come back to Buffalo because it’s a great environment to raise a family

Forget Ginger and Mary-Ann. Lovey can really gyrate those hips.

From 13-18, we did pretty well drafting quality top 6 talent in the first round. Nylander is the only question so far. But look at 2006-12. Most of those guys either don't even play in the NHL or are role players for their teams. Tyler Myers being the lone exception. Good thing we traded him for someone worse.

Want a reason why this team failed? There's one. The foundation completely fell out. Half of those players had zero value. Here's to hoping Botts continues to find real talent in all the early rounds and finds at least a gem a year in the back half.

Samsanov was signed by the Caps. Grubauer has proven he deserves more minutes. Me thinks the Sabres should go after Hutton or Grubauer this year. A trade would be required for Grubauer (his rights to sign). I'd say the Caps would want Samsanov to get #1 AHL minutes, which moves Copley up to back up Holtby.

Grubauer Was Pretty disgusting ( bad) in the playoffs I would rather go with Hutton “free” and a very good track record as a goaltender in the nhl

It was more so that there's plenty to do around here. Whether you want to smoke a bone or not. I know it's not Rodeo Drive there hotshot, but it's not some outpost in Siberia.

Weber - Dahlin is pretty solid in his own end. He works on it off the ice too. He tries to make something happen, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. But again, he's 18. The game will eventually shrink down for him and he'll be that much quicker at adjusting. #Sabres

Weber - Dahlin only has one gear. Once that opening whistle sounds at practice, he just goes and he doesn't stop. It's kind of how he was brought up in the Swedish mentality and his personality. #Sabres

Are you a Montreal fan? That is a terrible trade for Buffalo.

Our need is on wing and you trade away Reinhart who plays wing and ROR can get someone like Hanifin.

If anything we should be looking at getting high end talent not trading it away.

We should be looking at something like Hanifin and Skinner for ROR+

Getting 2 wingers with speed
Saving money for 3 years
Getting more offense
Keeping Risto
Getting a pure goal scorer to play with Eichel
