Maybe he means he will drop the ceremonial puck in 10 or so years at Crosby's retirement game.

Why do people stand and go crazy when there is a fight? Why do players make salaries we can only dream of? Oh, that’s right, it’s because it’s a CONTACT sport where things like this can happen! There is an inherent risk one takes for playing. If you don’t want to take that risk, take a desk job!!
- Hokeeguy9

So he knocks 3 players out in the last handful of games with head injuries and you think that's just part of the game? Really?

A broken jaw is very unfortunate. The hit was to the body though. 0 Games.
- Beatle_john

I am really torn on this. I've checked people before and left my feet afterwards because of the contact. But, it really looks as if Wilson is intentionally driving up through ZAR. In that case, you can't do it head on. It's gotta be shoulder to shoulder and more from a side angle, otherwise, you're going to drive through the other players head every time.

Well usually when two people "Agree" to fight, they know they are in a fight and are able to defend themselves if needed. I don't think anyone is agreeing to have their head taken off by Tom Wilson... Your comparison is as terrible as your team... Keep trying.

This "pathetic" franchise has won 5 of the last 26 Stanley Cups, while the Flyers haven't won since the Carter administration. By the way...Shouldn't your tee time be about now?

Like the hit or the team or not. I think we can all agree this is a sick golf bag

A clean hit that's actually being reviewed By DoPS, what's the world coming to?

DoPS is on crack isn't it, plenty of cheap shots that they can review. Wilson on Wenneberg, Wilson on Dumoulin. Oh wait..........

Clean hit. Unfortunate injury, but those happen in contact sports. Crysby is the NHL's darling child though, so Wilson gets a hearing and probably a game or two.

Remember when clean hit meant you didn't launch your shoulder into someone's chin? I don't. Hockey has always been filled with garbage players taking out the talented. Another reason why the talented pursue other sports.

Dirty PoS hit, should be done for this series. Clowns that skate around trying to break bones and cause brain damage should no longer be welcome in the sport.. If you think it makes your favorite sport "cool" or "tough" because of players like Wilson then take off your bias shades cuz you're dead wrong.

(You know you wouldn't be saying it was a clean, skilled hit if it was a guy worth 2 poops on your squad)

Statement from the league officials says all 4 refs and linesmen had a discussion after the hit and all agreed it was a clean hit.

So maybe it’s just you and some whiners?

Glad this guy plays in the eastern conference.

Quick cure for this nonsense is to get your stick up in his face when he comes at you. A cross checking penalty is better than having a broken face.

Or maybe the refs just get things wrong sometimes? Nahh, that could never happen. It's also NEVER happened where a missed call on the ice resulted in a player's suspension.

This exactly. The Caps started Game 1 with that strategy. Get your hands and stick up to face level and push off the check. You'll maybe get called once if your whole team does it all game.

eNDSo, this is pretty true and not just in the NHL. I know that if I play in a Beer League game and score a couple of goals, the other team is going to start slashing, tripping, cross checking. No one likes to be shown up, but for some reason in hockey people think it's ok to try to hurt the other teams best players.

I mean, I LOVE physicality. That's fun. But, the NHL is what every hockey player grew up watching and it's what influences EVERY hockey players instincts when playing.

Hit was tibthe shoulder first. They showed the ‘birds eye’ and it clearly should the shoulder. The head was absolutely hit, but it was while he drove the hit. Not his fault he’s bigger.

Bad call by DOPS....dopes. Parros is a lunatic. He is awful. He’s making calls on the results rather than the hits themselves. Terrible.

This feels like the league covering their asses after not acting after the hit on Dumolin... The one that actually should have had some sort of disciplinary action.

Oh definitely. There is a reason the majority of their videos have been 1-2 minutes long, and suddenly they put out a 5 minute video for this. 100+ hits over the season that should have been suspended if this is their standard. If not for a team the league has spent so much marketing whining to national media, this isn't a suspension.
