I don't plan on back-reading this whole thread, but why hasn't there been more conversation surrounding the more obvious problem that he clearly left his feet leading into the hit? That's an evident attempt to flatten and injure a guy. Primary point of contact was the shoulder by my viewing but the sheer force of him jumping into the hit lead to significant contact being made with the jaw and head.

I agree with both decisions that player safety has made regarding Wilson hits this series.

Watch the nhl video on it...they discuss all this and show you exactly how it's a pure head hit and nothing but.

There is literally not a definition for "principal point of contact". It can mean anything in anyone's view because its a meaningless phrase.

The NHL has no concept of reckless endangerment to charge Wilson on the Dumoulin hit. Players are allowed to hit from behind in open ice? No poop players might turn into hits they can't see.

I’ve been trying to explain this to a couple of dimwits in Tanners thread but to no avail.

Just watched it. Glad they brought that to the front as I just hadn't seen very much about that

No, I didn’t say anything incorrect. I don’t think the head hit was deliberate but it was reckless and warranted a suspension.

Everything I said about Rinosaur was factual and he will prove me right in the coming weeks, he can’t help himself.

quote=Larsson_fan]I like the Pens, think you’re kind of a goof mind you, but that hit was clean.

Ah, the computer says NOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

So does Russel Peters.

Clean hit by all other teams standards and by the officials standards. Guy gets injured is unfortunate. Then Mario whines and now Tom is out 3 games. Classic penguins.

It shouldn't be news that Tom Wilson tries to hurt people. He's the Vontez Burfict of the NHL. He's got a screw loose similar to Matt Cooke and Marchand. He enjoys it and the video of him yucking it up as a guy is bleeding and staggering off the ice proves it. Fvck him.....I hope somebody ends his career before he ends somebody else's.

I'm surprised by the 3 games and think the NHL gave him the 3 games because he made them look bad. They gave him the benefit of the doubt on Dumo and he repays them by breaking a guys jaw in the very next game.

The league won't change it though.

Remember the leaked email about liking the violence & the rilvary?

It's here to stay with this administration & owner group. Seriously, if a few owners got together & put pressure on Bettman something might change. If the Players reps wanted to change 'anything' they could. No change means the only ones female doging are the fans. Remember also, a lot of old hockey players are in positions of power meaning those guys played through some pretty heavy poop.

Well I damn well hope Mario was asking for a 3 peat while he was on the phone!!

The fact that so many modern day enemies of the Pens are also saying it wasn't as you claim 'a clean hit', sort of persuades me to think you may have to look at some footage again.

Him and Marchand both should be shown the door. They're disgraces.

I've been putting thought into the term primary point of contact today..... does it HAVE to mean initial or can it be where the majority of the contact is made??

When someone asks your primary residence you give them the address you live at the majority of the time... not the first place you ever lived.

Even the dictionary gives main or chief as the initial definition and earliest or first as the secondary definition.

His chin/jaw is the first thing getting hit there. Even from that angle its evident.

That's certainly a fair argument. I maintain that first point of contact appeared to be the shoulder but the NHL.com video broke it down better than I could.

Extremely overrated. Had some amazing seasons and had some that made it seem awful by context.

I'm not disagreeing with your assessment.... I definitely think he caught maybe 5% of his shoulder before decapitating ZAR... but that's where I get confused.... primary (initial) shoulder.... primary (main) definitely head
