That movie is (frank)ing great.

Use it as a scoop.

Agreed Wesley Snipes made a solid heel I never knew Willey Mays Hayes could be so punchable. Possibly Rob Schneider's best movie.

On a side note, if he does plan on staying in the NHL this year I'd take a run at MPS on a cheap contract.

Has speed, size, plays PK. Not sure you can count on much more than a 4th liner. But that added speed is where the NHL is going and we could use some guys battling for spots this year

- Lahey

I agree with that- said that when he was put on waivers...

Lots of chatter of Chia shopping the pick - not sure what the return will be but seems to be another smoke in mirrors and they end up taking a pick again anyway... which is what they should be doing... cause we cant draft for (frank) post round 1...

It makes a lot of sense as it would be something that can give you a decent impact player in return.

I prefer them moving the pick than a Ky Jelly or Pizza Boy.

We don't get a winning team there isn't going to be anyone left by the time expansion comes around. They'll all be gone.

Here you want McDavid, you need to take Lucic

For Russell's case, a buyout the next year might be our best option if we can't offload him (even then, it would require something on top in order for anyone to actually take him). Yes, we'd take a hit, but that's one less spot to protect going into the draft.

For Lucic's, I'd be willing to bet that he rebounds next year. As discussed earlier, he was doing well early in the previous year. 26 points in 36 games. That's on pace for something on par to a career year (near 60 points!). Then he just completely fell of a cliff (after Christmas)... His shooting Percentage ended up 6.9% below his career average at years end! That's insanity. We saw his frustration near the end of the season too. From what looked like a near career year, to utter poop of a year.

As for Sekera, his case is different in that it's injury based. Can he get back to form? If so, we shouldn't need to worry about him at all. If we don't want to take the risk on him, I would consider packaging him for Faulk (I think he would be okay with waiving his NMC to go back there) considering that Carolina fans (BINGO! for one) have fallen out of favor with him. Just a thought to consider. Interesting to speculate upon.

I wouldn't trade Faulk for Sekera though. Sekera is 6 years older, more expensive, and certainly hasn't played at the same level he was at when he left here.

Plus we already have Slavin, Hanifin, Fleury and Bean down the left side.

I mentioned that it would take a package. Like Sekera and a solid pick or good prospect. Would that entail interest from you? Additionally, salary can be retained (1-2m in cap space in a structured deal)?

I think we'd be looking more for a straight hockey deal... like a roster forward or a RHD. I don't think there's much advantage for the Canes in acquiring Sekera.

We'd be looking more at a Faulk and Rask for a fwd type deal.

Canes are gonna be trading picks/prospects soon too.

What makes you think Sekera would waive to go back there? He wouldn't.

He has played there before and is probably familiar with the area. They also have a good, young team in general that will be getting better with experience but could be currently labeled as a playoff contender (wildcard spot most likely if they do get in) going into next year. The biggest issue for them is consistency in net. If they can sort that out, they should be able to get into the playoffs next year. Regardless, a good team overall. So now tell me, why wouldn't he?

Hmm... who would you be interested in not named McD, RNH, and LD with regards to forwards?
