So one of maybe Rubstov, Allison, or Laberge?
- arichardson22

Probably one of the first two, Laberge has little value at this point.

Goaltending can be better but let's not forget the injury situation in goal. Elliot had a good season despite a lot of poor play in front of him and as usual Neuvirth had injury issues but his stats were up there. Players are expected to play through injuries but that is what killed us. Elliot was in no condition to play and you could see Neuvirth had some issues.

The players also did no favours for the goalies. They basically gave the games away literally. Failed clears, Unforced penalties, bad giveaways and lack of effort at times as well.

I don't want to give up Allison.

He's the prospect I feel the worst for. He wasn't hailed as the next generational player, but he was a projected first rounder who was coming off of a great season and a great start until he got murdered.

Would you have interest in Charlie Coyle or JP Pageau?
- jmatchett383

If I was looking for a 3rd line RW, I’d have interest in Coyle. Pageau doesn’t interest me. Not enough skill to make up for his lack of size.

I really don’t either. It depends who you are moving up for. For example, if it’s a Farabee who is a highly skilled LW, then I’d be fine with adding a guy like Lacyzinski to the deal.

I'm not against using a draft pick for an established young NHL player.

I wonder about Calgary. It's reported they want to get into the 1st round. But would you do 19 for Bennett?

I think Bennett has more to his game and could just use a change in scenery. Also i think he has spent most of his time at wing and he might be better at center.

I am still waiting to hear about Lacyzinski and Allison and if they are returning to school. I really thought both might be leaving but with Allison's injury I am not sure.

I thought both could be close to NHL ready as both had the size and skills to play NHL roles.

I just read Fazleev is heading to the KHL.
- Ftown19125

He is a good dude...Seems like the organization wanted him to strictly be a 4th liner and I don't think he wanted that. They're probably correct in the assessment at the NHL level, but probably had more to give at the AHL and will at home

Had some tough family luck too leading into his draft season. It’s a damn shame he hasn’t been the same since that hit / concussion.

Out of the three, Id like to keep Allison. I hope Laberge can bounce back

Why not?

If they target a player that they can get by dropping back a couple of spots, plus picking up another asset, why wouldn't they do that?

That's just good asset management.

- johndewar
Exactly what I was thinking. If you could potentially get a player and another pick and still draft the player they want, why wouldn't they.

I feel like Veleno is a big high risk high reward.

I think people dont talk enough about Lundestrom enough. He is a good pick at 19.

- VladDrag

Yeah I know a few people that like him a lot. Initially I thought 14-19 would be a good range to grab another defenseman, but I am starting to worry they are gone by 14

He can play the middle but he’s more effective on the wing

Please go to the 2:40 mark. That guy wearing #99 in red had a wide open net to tie the game and whiffed. Total bust.

- jmatchett383

I saw some clown wearing #8 for Washington miss a wide open net a few times in the Penguins series. That guy sucks.

Why go through all the paperwork when you can just fly in a few local Vancouver residents to burn it all to the ground?

My Flyers wish list for 18-19 in order of preference:

1. Acquire a quality third center
2. Find an upgrade in goal
3. Add a good, fast, PKer with skill to the bottom 6
4. Trade Gudas and let Morin & Myers compete for his spot
5. Trade up from 19 into the top 12 in the 2018 draft

- BiggE

1. Looking strictly at UFA since trade targets would be too difficult to find, Riley Nash and Stastny would be at the top of my list. Maybe Derek Ryan as a fallback but not sure if he's enough "quality".
2. If we can find a way to move Neuvirth, it's a shame Bernier has health issues because he would have interested me. I've always liked Khudobin.
3. Jay Beagle?
4. Sign me up
5. Sign me up (depending on the cost and target)
