If the cap goes up to, say, $80M, any idea what the floor will be? Would a team like the 'yotes need to take on salary? Domi seems to be the only player who is due a sizable raise.

Raanta got extended for $4.25 million a season, Domi will have a new contract, they'll most likely resign Connauton and sign a couple FA. They'll be above the floor.

imagine they could have had DeBrusk, Barzal and Connor/Boeser/Konecny. Granted its way too early to say Zboril and Senyshyn won't be players but I remember when that draft was happening everyone felt Senyshyn was so off the board and everyone was shocked they didn't take Barzal.
- nastyflyergirl

The draft is as deep as everyone said it was going to be...Lots of great players. Boston didn't (frank) up on all their picks, but man they passed on some good players

Just creating some conversation but other then Simmonds, is there someone on the roster you could see traded that would be a shock but not surprised to see moved?

I hope it's not confusing and you understand what i mean.

- J35Bacher

Nothing comes to mind. I don't think Hextall is looking to make a major move but you never know what might materialize.

I like Hayton a lot and I am sure plenty of GMs like him. I would be okay with ending up with him, but I see Veleno as a bit higher upside (I don't see the Finns much at all, but I believe they have more offensive potential). Anyway...hoping they "swing for the fences" a bit more there.

Probably a good move for him. You don't even see his name in Flyers prospect lists anymore.

with all of the prospects in the system its not surprising. He can probably make more there than the 70K a year here. I doubt he would have been re-signed after next season

Do we get to keep his rights since he was still on his ELC?

That's why you don't draft Russians

I wonder if he would use the late 1st rounder to try and acquire a younger NHL player. Maybe a RFA type player. Someone you might be able to slide into your 3rd line center role. I know draft and develop is the strategy but not every move has to be exactly that way.

Can you get an youngish NHL player that maybe needs a change who could grow here.

He really wasn't going to be much more then a bottom 6 player. As you get better prospects this happens.

Not entirely sure, I tried reading about it, and it seems like they would.

I'm not against using a draft pick for an established young NHL player.

Yep it's time to stop rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. Time to throw the broken chairs overboard.

If the Flyers don't make any moves, I would love to see the Flyers select Ryan McLeod with the 19th pick. Obviously depends on who else is available at the spot.

Farabee would be really nice at 14, but I expect a defenseman at that spot. Probably a Bode Wilde or Jett Woo (not a fan that high).

I expect most of these would be taken before the Flyers pick, but if any of them are still there I would love for the Flyers to snap one up and I would be super excited:

Rasmus Dahlin
Evan Bouchard
Adam Boqvist
Quinton Hughes
Ty Smith
Noah Dobson

Andrei Svechnikov
Filip Zadina
Brady Tkachuk
Oliver Wahlstrom
Joe Veleno
Barrett Hayton
Joel Farabee

Everyone would love to have Dahlin. Sabres are taking him.

Case closed.

I just don't want us to trade back for any reason. So in case of best player available or by need, who are we picking with both picks?

What do you feel like it would cost to go from 19 to 10?

At least a 2nd and a good, but not great, prospect

Why not?

If they target a player that they can get by dropping back a couple of spots, plus picking up another asset, why wouldn't they do that?

That's just good asset management.

I feel like Veleno is a big high risk high reward.

I think people dont talk enough about Lundestrom enough. He is a good pick at 19.

Montreal seems to really want to upgrade the defense. What about a guy like
Phillip Danault. Could be a straight hockey trade. He is 26 and played on the PK. He'll be a RFA and might be relatively cheap.

- J35Bacher

He’s not bad and can certainly kill penalties. I’d hold out for more if we are trading Gudas though as even decent RH Dmen have more value than a so-so 3rd liner. I’d also want a draft pick coming back (a 4th would do) or I’d want them to also take Weise off our hands
