If you aren't landing Svechnikov or Zadina, I don't think it's worth the cost to move up to 4. I'd rather see them package #19 with a lesser pick and prospect and move up into the 10-14 range. I'd try and target Edmonton's pick, there is no GM easier to fleece than Chia. - BiggE
after picks 2-4 the top 15 seems loaded with defense. Who are you wanting to move up to target?

Kotkaniemi and Farabee are 2 guys I'd try to move up from 19 and target. The first is, IMO, the best all around center in this draft and Farabee is highly skilled, extremely smart player with good wheels who just needs to fill out. I don't see either going in the top 8, so I think a deal could be made to snag one of them. The D I really like, besides the obvious (Dahlin), are Boqvist and Dobson, but I think both go in the top 8 so you are looking at moving up from 14 if you want one of them. I'd rather hold on to 14 and use the 19th pick to move up. I think that gives them a very good chance of landing 2 quality players.
Lets say, just for the hell of it, you move up to 10 which was Edmonton's spot and grab Farabee with that pick. Now at 14 you will still likely have at least one of Veleno, Hayton or Kupari if you are looking for a center, or if looking at D, you'd probably still have at least one of Ty Smith, Bode Wilde or perhaps even Hughes if his size scares some teams away.

Using the official YouTube scouting resource (typing the player's name into YouTube), I like Bouchard over Dobson. Add to the fact that Bouchard is from the OHL (not a fan of QMJHL players generally), and I'd prefer him. Kinda reminds me of Sanheim's junior play, maybe just a step slower.
Bring back Elliott to be the starter. Decide who is going to backup and share the net. I don't trust Neuvirth but he might wind up back. - MJL
Just creating some conversation but other then Simmonds, is there someone on the roster you could see traded that would be a shock but not surprised to see moved?
I hope it's not confusing and you understand what i mean.

I think Dobson is a bit more dynamic player, but there isn't a whole lot to separate them. Bouchard is more filled out and probably a year or so closer to being NHL ready and having that extra strength can make him stand out a bit more when playing against Junior competition. Dobson is an inch taller and still seems to be growing, so once he stops and fills out you may be looking at at 6'4 205-210 pound RH shot Dman with great skills and wheels. Honestly, of the 2, he's the one that more reminds me of Sanheim.
I think Gudas falls into that category... - FlyersGrace
I don't think I'd be shocked if Gudas was traded, more like mildly surprised. A shock would be more of a big deal involving someone like Voracek or if Hextall were to move both picks and a top prospect like Frost to move up into the top 3.

package Raffle and Gudas and see what you can get... Arizona maybe.

Don't see Raffl having much value at this point, may as well hold on to him as he can be a very good 4th line who can move up when needed and a guy I'd rather see in the lineup over Lehtera, Weal or Weise.
Gudas, if for no other reason than he's only 28 and righthanded still has value in the league. If you are looking towards the future, he can probably land you a mid to late 2nd round pick or he might be a guy you could move to a team looking for D that has a 3C that the Flyers might be interested in.

Without actually watching much of the prospects, I'd really like Bouchard. - jmatchett383
I have Bouchard 8th but much like you all I can go by is the few CHL games I've seen, the prospects game, WJC (for the few that played), the internet and what I've read. Completely amateur level of knowledge for myself but its still fun to have opinions.

Tkachuk's skating scares me a bit. He's far from slow, but he's also just as far from being a dynamic skater too. I like him a lot, but I wouldn't break the bank to get him. My top 15 as of now would be:
1. Dahlin D (duh)
2. Svechnikov RW
I think he may just be a smidge better than Zadina and could end up playing center
3. Zadina LW
Pure offensive talent, wicked shot
4. Boqvist D
A bit undersized, but skating and skill are world class
5. Wahlstrom RW
Scouts have been raving about this kid for years. Excellent package of size, skill, speed and smarts
6. Dobson D
RH Dman with good size, speed and skills. He's rocketed up a lot of scouts lists this season.
7. Tkachuk LW
Prototypical NHL power forward build and attitude with soft hands and great hockey sense. His skating though is only average.
8. Hughes D
Another undersized guy but with great wheels and skills
9. Kotkaniemi C
IMO, best pure center in the draft, very smart player with good wheels and skills. If drops to 10 or lower, he's a guy I'd look to move up from 19 and target.
10. Bouchard D
Don't think he'll be a star at the NHL level, but he's a very safe pick. He's a guy that you will plug into your 2nd pair for a decade.
11. Farabee LW
Good wheels and skills, but needs to fill out. What really sets him apart is his smarts and hockey sense. He could be a real sleeper in this draft and he's another guy I'd target and would try to move up from 19 to get.
12. Veleno C
He's probably a close 2nd to Kotkaniemi when it comes to centers in this draft.
13. Smith D
Another good combo of wheels and skills, has some grit to his game to and is an excellent PP QB
14. Hayton C
Really good 2 way center, that will probably be a middle 6 guy at the NHL level who can shutdown the other teams top C and excel on the PK.
15. Kupari C
Good smooth skating all around player with very good hockey sense. Very similar player to Hayton, but I think Hayton has slightly better skills. - BiggE
One thing about Hayton.....Playing with Frost in SSM the Flyers have seen him all year. So they do know the player.

Montreal seems to really want to upgrade the defense. What about a guy like
Phillip Danault. Could be a straight hockey trade. He is 26 and played on the PK. He'll be a RFA and might be relatively cheap.
