Salary would have to be retained but I wouldnt trade Stecher, he ended the year strong and one of the hardest working dman the Canucks have. If Chicago retained 25% 5.1 mill for a guy like seabrook is worth it, especially if they took Guddy.

I don't think they would do that to just save 1.1m. I would trade Stetcher just based off of the fact that Edler and Guddy were looking like a legit top 4 paring, Tanev and OJ would make a legit pairing as well, trading Stetcher would allow us to get a pick with Seabrook.

I think at the point where the Canucks are, there is no reason to keep Tanev, I like him yes, but might aswell get assets to help the rebuild, if he really likes it here he could come back when a UFA in a couple years
