Lucic is still a decent player , brings leadership and has a good reputation as a dedicated pro , and much needed toughness to a very young team we will have in the next few years.
- onesmallleap

Lucic is not decent when you factor in his contract he is one of worst deals in the league.

It's a nice thought, but Zadina will 100% be gone when we pick.

Buffalo no brainer Dahlin
Carolina need scoring Svechnikov
Montreal need a C & scoring maybe Wahlstrom
Ottawa need D or a C Boqvist
Arizona need D Hughes
Detroit need D Dobson
Vancouver BPA or D ??? Zadina Tkachuk Bouchard

Thats my scenario but open to changes

- Nighthawk

Arizona will go RHD. They are loaded on the left.

Its all speculation only lol
No matter what i see a good player falling to us & what else JB can do is my curiosity.
Many scenarios could play out with it being fun times ahead for us.

Agreed.
No way he slides past Arz and/or Detroit.

I think one of Tkatchuk, Dobson or Boqvist will be available.

It only means he is a shutdown D of high quality playing the tough minutes. What it would mean if traded is a wait & see.

Yeah, i'd agree with that. I think i'd be fine wih any of those guys. If JB thinks we can wait to take Dmen until round 2 i trust him

Again thats very possible. All i can say is after the top 2 are gone it will get weird as someone mentioned earlier. Zadina IMO has fallen out of a top 3 lock. I could be wrong but idk if he is what the Habs want or need. MB has a tough decision ahead of him. If I its Wahlstrom but what do i know lol

I’m figuring teams pick dual purpose after the top 2 as in need/bpa at that position.
That said a D run will happen but who wants Wahlstrom will change that.
Tkachuk will fall through it all in my estimation.

I can see us taking a good D in round 2πŸ‘
We are in a good position for someone to fall to us there. Depends on the D run.

Same as last year. Should be bottom 6 teams equal chance . Stops the tanking
- VANTEL

Why do you care If a team tanks and how can you punish a team that just sucks the same as a team that intentionally tanks?

They should change the draft format to have two lotteries. The first one to determine how many teams will be in the 2nd lottery to determine actual draft position.

First draw picks a single number between 3 and 15. (Maybe run this at the end of the regular season, just before playoffs start.) You can weight it however you want to make it more likely or less likely that a team who narrowly missed the playoffs even gets a chance to win 1st overall.

Less incentive for teams to tank but also helps losers like the Canucks get a better shot at players who will help their franchise.

- YeOldTimer

Why not just scrap the lottery?

Dahlin
Svechnikov
Zadina
Wahlstrom
Bouchard
Tkachuk

You only get six.

- thundachunk

Page 2 lol

I see Dobson ahead of Bouchard maybe.
Hughes is the wild card.
Zadina could fall only because of what team sees which player is a better fit. Still though its both Zadina & Tkachuk who could slide.

Its all semantics in the end. Tbh idc & think the lottery is fine & ends up spilt milk for somebody. There is no conspiracy.

My issue this draft is the Atlantic is so horrible i am glad our divisional rivals dudn’t gain any advantage on us.

It should only be weighted differently.
Teams who miss the PO’s the longest should get higher odds. Eg a team like TBL getting Hedman 2oa after an off season is a problem.

As much as I want to trade Tanev, the team wants to compete and something like OJ-Tanev and Edler-Guddy is a respectable top 4 to play with. that leaves DJ MDZ-Stetcher as our bottom pair.
