Apparently that is really really low.

Head scouts make more than that.
Hell hockey analysts on TV make more than that.

Mike Gillis's salary was $2 million plus a year in Vancouver I remember.

It can’t be true. I make 120k a year for pulling wrench’s.

lol wow, isn’t that what most assistant GM’s make?

I think GM’s make way more than that on average.

- Nucker101

I'd take it to get my foot in the door, but i am also a fan with no experience in hockey management.

It was reported by McKenzie and Freidman

It's so low because it isnt a standard GM role. It is more teaching the owner how to be a GM because he wants to make the picks and trades.

Dobson is rising to the top of a lot of peoples lists here. Hughes I think is too high risk. His size may prevent him from being a #1 like Dobsons ceiling is, and I doubt he gets a growth spurt. Bouchard has a nice offensive ceiling but Dobson is good in all 3 zones and has a similar ceiling with a higher floor.

the draft guy that was interviewed on 1040 today was absoluty sold on Hughes and said he might make it in the top 4 he said he has the potential to be a game changer the way its played today, i forget the guys name but i think he was from the nhl network or espn

I love Steve Y as a GM

But signing Dan Girardi is one of the dumbest decisions he has made.

Dude is straight trash.

Benning is the better drafter, trader and signings are a toss up.

I didn’t review many posts, I’m guessing a lot of talk about 7.

Bouchard
Hughes
Dobson

In that order. I’m kind of hoping tkachuk drops to us, but that’s high hopes.

McDavid not even on the ballot for Hart, guess that debate is settled! Personally, he should have been a finalist but this does confirm it is for players whose team makes the playoffs.

Wow....

Bodqvist
Whalstrom
Tchunck
Dobson
Hughes
Bouchard

In that order... bpa

Hughes is on the Team USA roster for the World Championship. I'm excited about getting a chance to see him play live!
- Carol Schram

He's under rated around here I believe. I think I'd take Dobson over him, Bouchard or Wahlstrom though. You are looking at a PP quarterback in Bouchard but Dobson looks to hold his own there as well. Dobson offers everything and still has a pretty high ceiling. He looks like he could blossom into top 2. Bouchard... not so sure with his foot speed.... but magic with the puck at the other end of the ice.

People keep comparing Boqvist to Erik Karlsson but the many scouts are saying Hughes is the more accurate comparison and I agree. The wheels and the puck control are better than Boqvist(who has a better shot)... very Karlsson like and his weight is over 170 now... he's Karlsson size more or less as well. Of course there more risk with Dmen under 180 though. I think with him... that risk is overplayed more by fans terrified of wasting a pick. GM's and scouts are in a different frame of mind.

I think many on here are over stating the foot speed narrative with Bouchard. The kid was playing 30 plus minutes a night, had to carry that team. Any footspped issues, i am sure will be corrected this summer, I am more concerned about us taking a puckwatcher like Hughes.

I just noticed that Wahlstrom is listed as a C/RW. I wonder how he is at C.

All i can add is knocking who picks the 6 ahead of us.

Buffalo DAHLIN
Carolina SVECH
Montreal ZADINA/Wahlstrom/Boqvist coin flip
Ottawa BOQVIST Dobson Hughes
Arizona BPA D DOBSON Hughes
Detroit BOUCHARD Wahlstrom Hughes

Out of the above i see Tkachuk falling cuz of a D rush with Wahlstrom there for us if Wings go for D. Zadina is in a strange predicament but goes as BPA. Wings could go any way & need a RHD but hard to pass on Wahlstrom which is my hope. Safe pick is Bouchard. Hughes along with Tkachuk could be later pick gems by my assessnent.

At 7 we take WAHLSTROM i predict.

Chicago HUGHES
NYR TKACHUK
Edmonton KOTKANIEMI
NYI FARABEE
NYI SMITH

Hawks need to restock D. NYR luvs getting Tkachuk who slides. Oilers go BPA vs need.
NYI BPA & need.

12-31 unexciting but a few big potentials in prospects & possible top 4D.
