We will be royally (frank)ed. We will have to protect Lucic, Russell, and Sekera. So going either the 7-3-1 route or 8-1 we will be losing a major piece from our team. We still need to protect the core of McDavid, Draisaitl, Nuge, Nurse, Klefbom, Larsson. Possibly Puljujarvi. We don’t have much for prospects as is. We need to keep this pick and use it. Any veteran player we trade it for will just be another name that gets left unprotected.

The way the great young players are signing 8 yr deals at 21 there s gonna be a real problem with teams signing UFA’s till their 36 or 37. Owners are gonna want an out clause for players over 30 that suck.
I can think of at least 5 contracts for players that are Long term injured Retired and another 5 or more teams would love to get out of.

There will be a couple of players that are sponsored by Nike that become allergic to anything Adidas. A couple of other rogue players (not sponsored by anyone because they're poop), will also develop Adidas related sicknesses.

I'm torn now between appreciating Dobson's skillset and the fact that none of the best Dmen in the league seem to have come from the QMJHL. Letang, Vlasic and Chabot are the only noteworthy names that come to mind.

Regardless, my order stands as any of the Dmen who might fall followed by a smattering of forwards (Veleno, Kotkaniemi, Thomas and Hayton in no particular order yet).

And even if it hurts, I think he needs to go ASAP. Can’t really risk him playing another season and there being no doubt the wheels have in fact fallen off > completely unmovable.
Sucks cause he could bounce back, but that’s the spot we’re in kinda.
