IF the Browns take Mayfield, and Jets will take QB at 3...#Giants could trade with the #Broncos (who want Sam Darnold), drop down to #5, and still land Saquon Barkley

- gerbe75pts

Yea I was hearing that if one of Mayfield, Darnold, Chubb we’re available at 5 they were keeping the pick. I guess trading up for Darnold isn’t out of the question. I honestly have no idea how it will play out from the Broncos side. I know they really like Denzel Ward the DB from Ohio state as well. Could trade up, down, or stand pat.

Fair to say that making the playoffs was a good step then? I just remember them talking about Syracuse like they were our Goliath to tackle.

Dumb if true... Unless we’re tanking again
- 22sabresQ

a 935 s% and 2.00 GAA in 5 games on an absolutely horrible Sabres team, yes small sample size but he appears ready to make the transition, one playoff series does not make a player this early in his career.

Not sure if Ullmark is good enough to be our #1 ...

Edit: FIST !

Yeah Botterill has his work cut out for him for sure. And part of that is addition by subtraction.

Point one : Ullmark should not be handed the number one goalie position with the Sabres. I don't care how you cut it he allowed to many goals in BIG games that count. It should be clear he is not a money goaltender which we need here in Buffalo. Lehner is a bust. Johnson as much said he doesn't expect to be back.

Oh and a side note to the goaltending situation in Buffalo - why is Andrew Allen given a pass. It's obvious Lehners positioning and over playing of pucks as well as not being able to cover loose pucks is evident. Those should be coachable tangents. And unless Lehner just didn't care about his craft then Allens job should be scrutinized.

Point two: Time to move out and beyond Rochester players lacking heart including Nylander, Bailey, Baptiste, Fasching. They've been here long enough and the stench of the Sabres locker room have invaded Rochesters locker room ie. They don't mind losing and dont' know what it takes to win.

- Goalieguy43

So since Ullmark struggled in his very first pro playoffs in NA hes not a big game goalie?
I did not like his performance either, but how you can determine he plays terrible in big games if hes only played in maybe one or two? ( I wouldn't consider game 1 to be a big game)

I think the sabres being severely overmatched was a big part of the equation

rochester was 4-6 in the 10 games with the crunch in the regular season

my excitement level for each qb if we land him

#1 - Mayfield: OHH BOY lets go. Most exciting by far, but definitely less confident about him.
#2 - Darnold: Always seemed like the forbidden fruit so if somehow we get him it would be like a huge steal.
#3 - Rosen: Really not far behind Darnold. Would love to have him and has been my favorite the whole time. Still less excited if they got him than the other 2, but still my favorite

---

#20 - Allen: like please, do not. He could obviously work out and make us all look like idiots but hes TERRIFYING to draft high

good points on allen...but I don't think bailey, baptiste and even Fasching lack heart as much as other things in the skill department
- Michael Pachla

I'm thinking the issue with Nylander is an entitlement thing. He's clearly talented, but only seems to put it together when he feels like it.

He played well enough in his little stint towards the end of the year, and I really want him to pan out, but we also can't have another player with a poop attitude in our already toxic locker room.

I haven't seen any of his games with the Amerks, but what I've read/heard is just lack of effort.

i really wonder if allen is going to take a huge slide in the draft

you are putting your career on the line if you take him. when literally everyone says hes bad and you take him -- if he ends up being bad. thats an AWFUL look for a GM.

I am all about getting either McGlinchey, Edmunds, Ward or Vea at 12

Vander Esch, Evans, Ragnow, Payne at 22

hell use some of the other picks, to trade up with eagles and grab a 3rd guy tonight

I won't, but yes I think it will be mayhem. Now that I think of it though, with so many options, mild freak outs are going to occur. Should be interesting to read through.

And I really like Vander Esch. Everything I read keeps telling me he will be a very good football player.
