Hextall
Center and D are the areas where he sees most need for improvement. The Flyers may be willing to move up in the draft but they also would like to continue building depth from a good draft. He said if we go young on D, so be it. We have a year more experience now amount the young guys on D. - nastyflyergirl
I thought there was a magic number of the max. amount of "young guys" or rookies they would allow to play on defense. I guess not. |

Hextall on Hak: With all due rspect to our fans, and they are a minority, I know a lot more about our coaches than they do. Our coaches know more about our players than they do. I can't react to - nastyflyergirl[fan sentiment]. That said, we all need to get better, myself included
It's not the first time he's low key gone after the fans of his club.
Interesting approach. |

I do believe the GM knows more about the coach than us and the coach more about the players in general, HOWEVER, that does not mean they are always right. - nastyflyergirl
of course they (frank)ing know more than we do. guess what? guys that get hired almost always get fired. |

yeah, great. the PK has sucked for 4 years. under 1 person. bringing him back in this role is dumb.
i have nothing to say about hak. i've said it already a million times.
"do a better job". great. andy reid says hi. - hammarby31
When you finish 29th, 19th, 20th, and 27th over the past 4 years in PK, changes need to be made.

Hexy on Lappy and PK: We have looked hard at that. We aren't happy with where we are. But I thought we got better late in season and pretty good in playoffs. We will look to add in that area over the summer. I am convinced we will be better there next year, and we need to be.
Pretty good in the playoffs? more like pretty inconsistent |

I am hoping the "all coaches will be back" only means they will have roles with the organization...I am venturing to guess it doesn't 100% imply they will be in same role as this year and the statement does not preclude them from adding more |

give provorov and coots the A.
not thrilled with elliot/neuvirth tandem next year. not confident they will remain healthy. hoping they move one, bring up stolarz, who i think is the better of the two ahlers, and let hart be a workhorse.
dump as much deadwood as possible, utilize our own assets, and maybe add a piece or two at most in FA. despite hextall's "free rein" in FA, i don't see him doing much...maybe now that he's got space he will. i don't want any more weises, filpulas, lehteras (yes, i know he got us frost), gordons and the like. enough. (frank)ing enough.
glad nobody is going to the world's. rest, heal, train.
(frank)ing (frank). - hammarby31

I love a lot of the things Hextall has brought, but I am going to say something that is purely an opinion and my vibes here.
There is a somewhat strong projection of arrogance and "we know best" from them during his tenure. Don't question us as fans, it's not your place.
He made similar comments I believe during other stretches of poor play. He would get roasted alive for something like that in the Canadian markets. To go after even a certain number of your fanbase is just weird to me. Very passive aggressive. Flyers know best.
Let's see you prove it. |

There is, but quite frankly, I don't care. Most of the fans are just female doging about a sentence Giroux said or complaining about goaltending. Hextall has flaws, but telling it like it is, especially to the media, isn't one of them IMO |

That's not what he is saying. You can question them all you want, but they know more than the fans do and don't expect him to react to what the fans think. He's right, they do. |

they have to say that, and to a large degree, he's right. they can't let the inmates run the asylum. i'm very high on hextall. always have been. would like a big leap to be made this summer in many areas, which starts with him. |

Meh I don't really care that much either.
Its just strange to me when he is seemingly so confident in a guy like Lappy. It's a decision that should be questioned.
Giroux said nothing wrong, but again... You aren't exactly going to be winning a lot of fans over by saying something like that. I agree with him, but he's not exactly going to make it easier for his team or himself.
Its a very us vs the fans thing. Interesting to see it unfold hah. |

You're mistakenly lumping all the fans in one group.
