I expect virtually the same roster next season with the same results in one year from now. Hakstol, remains. Giroux remains. Voracek remains. Oh but he might trade Simmonds but let's write Filppula a blank cheque. - SuperSchennBros
I guess technically it will be blank before they write something on it. If, and I mean if they resign him it would probably be one year at 2 million. I think that is very unlikely to happen anyway.

Cmon, we all know that he’s giving Filppula 5 years and 50 million, trading Simmonds for a 7th round pick, extending Hakstol for 20 more years and rolling with Elliott and Neuvirth for another half decade so that Hart can properly marinate.

Just like those who went off the deep end with a massive overreaction during the Pens series because Hakstol didn't play the player they wanted?

IMO, blindly defending each and every move the GM and coach makes is almost as ridiculous.

That is a false accusation on your part. If you'd like I can provide the evidence of it. My exact words concerning not playing Sanheim were that I don't agree with it and I don't like it. I have disagreed with moves that both have made a number of times. Perhaps you need your memory refreshed or it's just convenient. I don't agree with Lappy coming back if he is going to continue to coach the PK. .

Yup. Interesting to me how Hextall isn't even entertaining the thought of bringing back Manning. Shame on some of these posters that wanted a young Hagg playing in the playoffs and expressing their opinions about it. This is a player the GM described as having an "excellent year" over a player whose setup to be a #7 journeyman the rest of his career. It's ridiculous

Exactly. Does anyone think that Hextall just decided at some point during the last 48 hours that he was cutting ties with Manning? Yeah, didn't think so. There was absolutely no good reason not to have both Sanheim and Hagg in the lineup and Manning scratched and the fans had every right to be pissed off about it.
I didn’t even hear the interviews. Of course he is lol. Were there any changes? Stay the course. Stay the course. Stay the course I’m guessing it was - Just5
All coaches back. Hextall left the door open to coaches having other assignments, but no doubt Laperriere will be running this joke PK yet again. I'm sure some will try and put a positive spin on it. It's a disgrace is what it is.

Yes they are. I would really love to see a Jets/Knights series in the conference final. IMO, they are the 2 most fun teams to watch in the NHL. - BiggE

Me too...but first I will enjoy preds/jets...tampa/boston will be excellent also.

The Flyers are in a draft and development phase. The hope is that more young players can make the jump to the lineup such as Sam Morin. So how are you going to create that open roster space? Get rid of a young player like Haag. So the choices really come down to Manning or Gudas. Who is the easiest player to move on from? Gudas who is still under contract or the UFA Manning? There is a false correlation being made here. There was nothing wrong with wanting Haag and Sanheim in the lineup. I wanted the same thing.

But if you played Hagg and Sanheim at the same time, then you'd break the magic rookie D quota.
Don't you know that you're only allowed to play a certain amount of rookies and young players on D per game?
