I can see Lappy given a new position within the organization. I'd be a bit surprised to see him fired but very surprised to see him return as the PK coach. - 77rams
Someone earlier in the thread said Hextall stated all coaches and assitants will be back so there's that. |

Expect if you listen to the audio they kind of have a point this time. Just a stupid comment from G. They asked Coots and Jake the same thing and they handled it well. Giroux should know better by now. - hereticpride
I read the quotes, did the audio add something? I get how he said the fans booing but from what I read you could see he was upset that they let it get to them and not play their game. |

The audio/full quotes definitely add something. Giroux brought up the fans when answering a question about their struggles. Just stupid on his part.
I can chalk it up as a brain fart but for I guy who has given canned non-answers his entire career it a pretty big slip up. |

Giroux wasn't the only one this exit interview to call out the fans, Couturier did the same.
Voracek, historically, has also been known to bring up the fans.
I find this troubling for a team that is full of canned quotes that go from, "play out game" to "try and play a full 60 minutes" game in and game out. There's no reason to bring up the fans in exit interviews, especially when you were outscored 20-something to 6 in three home games. |

They don't bring up the fans. The media brings them up. |

Hilarious. Keep him on board running that passive 4 man box and finish in the bottom of the league again. Rinse/repeat.
Like Gudas at practice, can't get out of their own way. - PLindbergh31

Giroux getting railroaded on sports radio today regarding his comments on fans.
He is presently the longest tenured Philly athlete. How did he think these comments were going to be taken??? - hereticpride
sports talk radio is full of idiots who try to stir the pot. I see nothing wrong with what Giroux said. Funny G is getting roasted but Coots isn't. People don't know what the (frank) they want. Give a canned answer and people complain. give a real opinion people complain. I can see why players are sometimes reluctant to talk. |

i agree. if they're asked about the fans behavior,expectations...say as little as possible, nothing more than they have the right to voice their feelings and all we want is to win. leave it at that. taking a shot at them is a no win situation.

Yeah hey, first time long time. So I'm hearing Giroux hates the fans, that's not something we need with the Eagles. Pederson's got them playing well, we don't need a bum like Giroux messing up that chemistry.

after the KC game - fire DP he is a dope HS coach. Wins superbowl. Future hall of famer.
After starting 1-4. Kaplar stucks. 15-8. whoooooo Phillies!
Reactionary fan base. Maybe its a good idea to give guys half a minute to prove they can do the job? |

Giroux v. Fans means absolutely nothing to me
Mob mentality is annoying, but ultimately, players play, coaches coach. They get traded or retire, coaches get fired
Never changes, never will |

WIP never talks about hockey even with having Morganti and Jones on so it annoyed me they were all over this playoff series loss and really I don't need to hear ex Eagles talking about hockey when they don't have a clue. the hosts and producers know every nuance about football but don't know jack about hockey. I recall earlier one of them asking how many cups in a row have the Penguins won. JFC really? |

Unless I'm missing something this is being blown completely out of proportion. He was honest about what he thought. Like I said, unless I'm missing something else he said, nothing wrong with it.

Understood; we all know how elements of this fanbase takes it. I understand people have the right to do what they want because they pay for the seats, but ultimately, you'd think everybody would realize that they want to score, too

agreed, though the NCAA is a good league. I am glad Allison may still choose otherwise. Hopefully both will join the Phantoms after their seasons |

Allison left a little wiggle room, right?
If it's me, I'd come in desperately looking to win a spot, especially if I could play the left side, but that's just how I'd do it |
