Source tells me NHL Lottery reveal will go as follows:

Before the 8 PM game - First 10 picks are counted down.

At 1st intermission they'll do the remaining five.

Note - It is ENTIRELY possible the 3 lottery winners are picked in that first ten.

Who's genius idea is this?

The NHL is the Islanders of professional sports leagues. They have to do everything different, repeatedly fail at it, yet still think that they are being innovative.

So, that means the Pens/Caps game 2 is at 8pm? 'Cause once Boston puts the Leafs out tonight that series with the Lightning is scheduled for 3pm! Rick Nash with the series winner!!!!! Hopefully, not in OT. I don't think my wife could handle the disappointment.

I think, if I am reading this correctly, they're going to select pick #16 through pick #6. But you'll know if one of the teams who "should have" been picking there won one of the lotteries, because they won't be in what would have been their slot had there been no lottery. But you won't know "which" lottery they won and what pick they were awarded until they reveal the top 5.

So let's pick a random team like...ohhh I don't know.....the Islanders. If the drawing for pick #12 comes around and Carolina comes out...that means they got bumped back a slot because the #12 team (NYI via CGY) won the lottery and jumped somewhere in the top three.

So they're basically tickling your balls and making you watch the entire intermission before they finish the job.

I guess they want to make sure people actually watch the 1st period of the game

Pretty crazy night for the city of Toronto. Not that I care about basketball or soccer, but 3 playoff games on at the same time!
Apparently, outside the Air Canada Center in Maple Leaf Square (usually called Jurassic Park when the Raptors play), they are planning to show all three games on big screens. Should be an insane atmosphere.
A few hours of respite for a city in need of distraction.
