If they made what we see as 1 game suspensions into 3-5 gamers and what we see as 3-5 into 10 gamers, and so on..you’d see it a helluva lot less then we do now. One game is absolutely nothing in a series, one player doesn’t mean that much to a team over 60 minutes
Injury plays a factor also which I think is ridiculous because seek and destroy missions that don’t actually destroy are still bad imo. Intent is intent, premeditated is premeditated. Granted some of them are less intended, Doughtys for example, but some of them get off way to easy for my taste based on the target players status. If Wingels goes off on a stretcher it’s probbaly 10 games or more. But Kadris intent and premeditated nature deserved far worse then 3 games. He was a lunatic about 5-10 seconds prior to that aswell - Slimtj100
love the max 5k fines though
Start with chopping Bettman's head off and clean up the league! |

So who are we hoping for in the first rd, besides the top 3. Been out of the loop but reading here and there, I’m still hoping for Bouchard |

Further evidence of the toughness of hockey players: Ivan Provorov says shoulder injury was Grade 3 AC sprain, should have kept him out 6-8 weeks |

WFAN was not the first ever sports talk show aired in New York when it began in the mid 1980's. The first & only one dating back to about the start of the 1980's was aired by Fordham University own WFUV FM station, from late to overnight on either or both, Saturdays &/or Sunday nights. Their station was helped founded by the legendary Vin Scully in the 1940's.
Their former sports talk show was known by name as "One On One", in which they would also produce some few minutes long, comical scripts to joke about any of the local teams when things were going bad for them. Two of its show's regular hosts were Charlie Sloewes (now a Wash. Nationals MLB announcer), and none other than thee Michael Kay of today. In addition, some others well known who were once part of its sports department down through the years, were Bob Papa, Mike Breen, Ed Randell, & Sal Marchiano among a few.
During those early 1980's while the Isles were winning 4 straight Cups, longtime Rangers fans, or even worse, if they were also Yankees fans, would remember an irritating regular caller on their show, who called himself, "Mr. Islander/Red Sox". I didn't mind the "Red Sox" part with his calls in being a Mets fan like Jan, but surely couldn't take his "Islanders" share, to the same extent that Kreiderbomb hates Devils fans today. |

I'm not a huge sports-talk radio show guy in the first place, but I don't think they're worse than Joe and Evan, bro - eichiefs9
I agree 100% and can no longer as well be a WFAN listener, due not only to those two's ways, but additionally the station's apparent policy to only talk hockey minimally, and mainly during the postseason only if any of the local teams are in it.
But Joe use to be good when he first began there doing solo hosted shows overnights, in the days when besides Steve Somers, Joe would also talk both hockey, and specifically Rangers hockey REGULARLY, including when hockey news was made during the off season. The MSG "Chief" use to even be a guest on many of Steve Somers' shows in those days.
Howie Rose was upset that the station wouldn't allow him to conduct to a time extent, some hockey oriented shows, when he was a host there in between his Mets and back then, Rangers announcing days, prior to leaving and doing so for his once hated Islanders for years until recently, despite him being a lifelong Rangers fan. |

Yeah, sure you were!
At least I know you may have likely remembered that show, since you remember Miloslav Horava being a Rangers d'man for a few seasons in the late 1980's to maybe the early 90's. |

He’s basically skating full speed into a players head that’s against the boards/dasher/glass take your pick, and literally JUMPS ass first into him. It “wasn’t that bad” because he was able to stand up. Look at it again and tell me if Wingels isn’t two inches higher that we’re talking about a guy in the hospital two weeks later
Edit: the leauges problom is they never give enough games on these suspensions. None of them. Morrisey I think It was, got one game!! Are you kidding me? That was Dave Brown/Tomas Sandstrom all over again - Slimtj100
I agree tj, and mentioned then, the same Dave Brown comparison you did. But since it also involved a Jets player, I also mentioned the incident a few seasons back, when Byfiuglien cross checked J.T. Miller while he was falling down on the ice, right on the back of his neck, and then used it in a repetitive pushing motion, as if he wanted Miller's head to go through the ice. Bfuglien also did not receive enough of a suspension. I don't even think the ref gave the Jets a penalty at that time, or at least not initially at the moment it happened, with the play then proceeding up to the other end of the ice. |

All, having Steve Kournianos, @thedraftanalyst as a guest on the hockey podcast I am taping tomorrow. Will post the link as soon as it’s over. - airjan23
He does a lot of good work, disagree with his ranking and opinions of players sometimes though. |

Despite the Leafs off season goal to bring in a top defenseman in order to be a top NHL power force, Pierre LeBrun said today on TSN in Montreal in regards to the Tavares situation, that if reaching the open market, he "can't rule out the Leafs surprising us with a bid for Tavares". He added that he "knows for a fact that the Sharks will be in the bidding", and expects the Golden Knights would be in as well.
If that's true, then Bozak and Van Riemsdyk will not be re-signed, among two of their free agents.
NBC Sports reports that two Denver Post writers debated the possibility of the Avs also being interested in Tavares, in addition to Flyers ownership giving Hextall the right to spend money this off season. They also reported that both Malkin and Hagelin will miss Game 1 of the Penguins 2nd Round series against the Capitals. |
