bruins converted on their chances, we didn't. didn't seem like andersen had much of chance on the 2-1's.
if marner scored on his breakaway, i doubt we would have given up odd man rushes. - Tumbleweed
I think I know how to solve Marner's breakaway issues. He needs to start thinking about how to pass the puck into the back of the net instead of shooting it
A lot of people have sadly mentioned Martin. That statement wasn't geared to you specifically (Max) but it needs to stop just the same. I don't disagree that finishing a check isn't a bad thing. Seems like the only guys doing it are Marner and Bozak That is a sad state of affairs, but that's not that important in the grand scheme of things, I don't think. - UsernameUnknown
Ya I know it wasn't point at me...I didn't mean to come back like it was...but we are way too soft IMO. I watch the other series and their forwards and banging and crashing and causing turnovers and scoring chances and making the D think twice before they try and carry it anywhere.
After the Bruins made it 2-1, we stopped(except Marner, Rielly) skating.. I didn't see any type of desperation in their play.. In all honesty, Babcock should not need to get players all fired up for the playoffs.. We're done, if there is no passion/effort/drive to win - PatC80
Yeah it really sucks, that has been my issue with them all series. No extra gear. They played their one playoff game in late February or whenever it was against Nashville and that was it.

LOL, nah. As bad as this series has gone, you can't deny the Leafs have a good future, and will be a future cup contender.
If Bettman didnt have this flawed playoff seeding, the Leafs would have been looking at home ice advantage and a better matchup.
The Leafs with Tavares would be pretty dangerous, and likely considered a cup contender. They would likely need to replace a D too, but they arent too far off.

I and others have been saying this team is soft for a while now.
Sadly, we just got attacked for it.

I hear ya. But that's not our style. It's like trying to fit a cube in a round hole. They need to stick with their speed since that is their strength.
The crashbangboom playoffs are so fun to watch though.

Criticizing Andersen this series is completely acceptable. Saying he is either not a good goalie or didn't have a good season is not. - UsernameUnknown
I think its fair to say he is slightly above average overall.
Not in the top tier, just a notch below
Yep, anyone with a set of eyes could see the Leafs deserved this game.
Rask stole this game. Those types of games happen in a series though, if the Leafs want any chance of coming back in this series. Andersen needs to steal 1, maybe 2 - Santo_44
Not the game I watched....3 mile/hr shots into the chest of Rask is not a high scoring chance IMO.
who would the leafs face under the old playoffs format? - Symba007
Pittsburgh I believe, with home ice advantage. While not an amazing matchup, Boston has clearly been better this year, and has better players to play against Matthews strengths for example.

I am sure the Leafs D group and ander5en would look great against Crosby and Malkin

"The new nhl is about skill only "
Skill will always be important but..... - Fakepartofme
Boston has a very skilled team.
2 "heavy" teams were just swept.
Having Chara. the biggest skilled freak in NHL history and Marchand gives them some edge I guess. but they are a very good team, not just tough or whatever
