It's all about CAPITALizing (teehee) on chances, and they simply didn't cash in. B's did, and make it look easy. Leafs didn't play great, but better than a lot of people are saying on here tonight. - UsernameUnknown
They played good. Just no finish. The late goal in the second sucked the life sauce right out of our hockey balls... |

I was so pissed, I really was. Disappointing, it's been happening all series. Just gotta take it one game at time now. I'm thinking we still win the next one some how
Then lose in 6. Oh well. |

Ya not many teams can come back from being down by one goal and only have 2 full periods and 19:30 mins left to score it.
Ya
Tough
Please stop
Jesus. - Fakepartofme
from that first shot on, to win Leafs needed to score at least two goals.
that's quite more difficult than just needing to score 1 goal for the win.
so yes - it was a huge difference.
in addition, it was a huge difference in morale and mindset - not a surprise that the D played those 2 on 1s bad; they didn't trust andersen 100% to stop the shooter. |

Blah I'm awful hesistant to trade a blue chipper that hits 60 pts twice on an ELC but he was just so soft this series. Never make a decision angry. - Blazed
If he doesn't pick his game up in the playoffs then who cares what he does in the regular season? It's moot. He's too soft. |

It's not an angry decision. It's moving a surplus in one area to fill a need in another.
If the Leafs sign Kane or Tavares as UFAs, you basically replace, if not increase, the offense you are losing and you can improve the blueline, which is by far the biggest need on the team.
Evander Kane at 6.5 million and 26 years old and move Nylander, Gardiner and a 1st for Karlsson or Doughty with an extension and the team is bigger, tougher, stronger, same offense and much better defense. |

Exactly.
Management wont be making trades based on someone's performance this series.

In case you missed it he's 21. But sure Leafs have no history of making that mistake.

how did the leafs play well???
Marner was fantastic.
after that, a huge dropoff.
team effort 0, no physicality and they just didn't read the game.
JVR will be gone after this season.
If you start playing Kapanen and Johnsson over JVR in last period of game four of a playoff series, seems quite a signal what the coach thinks.. |

Polak misplayed the 2on1 brutally.
Dermot was a bad break. He pinched, but when he tried to play it down low it bounced off the defender. |

If there's a chance at a legit #1 D in the right age range and they need to move Nylander to do it, they'd be stupid to pass on it. |

Agreed. Not sure Karlsson or Doughty is the answer.
You come up with Seth Jones though, and then we can talk.
Or a smaller, but still significant deal for Nurse maybe? |
