Gardiner had been playing great up until that missed pinch. Matthews by no means has played bad just not dominating. - Blazed
gardiner holds onto the puck way too long tonight |

Injured? - david22
He's not injured. Leads the team in shots by a wide margin. He's being played tight hard to produce. |

What?
It looks like a regular season game.. it's embarrassing. leafs need to punch these (frank)ers in the throat while Bergeron is out. - Arctic_AARDVARK
I'm not sure what game you're watching then Toronto has been dominant. Boston has 16 shots and mostly of the meh variety Toronto has been all over the O-zone.

Sucks, we've been the better team tonight but aren't capitalizing on our chances. Boston is.
It looks like they stopped staking for a bit. If they don't pick it up and force the play like the first, they aren't gonna make it. |

Rielly clearly hooked going over the line... no probs... its playoff hockey - refs can be total retards...except of course for the muslim players. |

Rask not tracking the puck well. Need to crash the net. Why is Bergeron out? |

not for matthews and gardiner - TheMussel
I frequently agree with you, but I don't here. Gardiner may be a little aggressive at times, and holding the puck a bit much, but he's skating well, moving the puck well, and he's a threat that Boston needs to be aware of.
I think Matthews has been strong on the puck on both sides. I think he's been limited partially because Nylander has to pick up some load. Hyman is working - but Nylander isn't contributing - this game in particular I'm noticing his reticence to get involved where there are bodies.

Agreed. Leafs have been playing pretty well for the most part. The score could easily be 2-1 Leafs right now, but unfortunately it hasn't worked out. A few mistakes by the Leafs and solid play by Rask has our boys down 1. Hopefully they can tie it up and win it in the third. |

When Nylander has the puck with any open ice at all very dangerous good skater but yeah he's been shying away from contact all series. Not cool. |

Gardiner is a high risk player. He is good offensively, but sometimes his aggressive play gets him in trouble, like that goal. Hopefully he makes up for it. - Thecakeisalie
I don't know if you have noticed
But the leafs have been pinching hard the last two games, and it's the reason they are in these games. It's a risk everytime you do it. But it's working against the Bruins |

The Leafs D have pinched a long the wall all year, it's a big part of their system and it's been quite effective. Not to mention every team does that play. |

Normally I'd ignore this, but I agree. Refs are people, and people are bumholes.
