If that is the return for RoR I will drive to Buffalo, Pick him up, get him some Timbits and drop him off in Montreal.
- Shadman306

Stranger things have happened. RoR is held in high regards by GMs, he's an established top 2 center, who is in his prime. He would be Montreal's #1. Whoever they would be picking, at let's say, #7 will be at least 1-2 years away from seeing the NHL.

Same in Vancouver. They could go Petterson 1c, RoR 2c, at the start of next season. Would they be willing to give us their Pick this draft or Juolevi?

This is what I was saying yesterday, making reactionary moves is a bad idea. They should not trade ROR for a 40-60% chance at 4th line, and a 13-40% chance of top 6. That's just horrible asset management

I’ll just take the top 7-8 pick.

I mean seriously. We are talking about a player who is just an average to slightly above average 2nd liner.

I’ll take my chance at drafting a guy like

Keller
Barzal
Connor
Boeser
Larkin
Ehlers
McAvoy
Werenski

And many others over the past 3 years than just trying to win more fade offs

- sbroads24

I agree. I think he should get more than just a 1st though especially if we retain 1-2 million.

Not sure if I've seen anything positive out of phil?
Name something, maybe I'm missing?

Soft spoken
Guys admit to giving up and losing the love of the game under his coaching
Worst record in franchise history
11 home wins
Sabres were flat at the beginning of games.
The defense didn't score until 1/4 of the way thru the season, which is his expertise.
Assembled a soft group of easy to play against players
Destroyed the #1 pp
Hired bad assistants

The only thing phil did:
Help get Jack signed, by not being a yeller.

Phil was dealt a bad deck of cards but, any positives?

- Boss34

1. HISSSSSSSSS
2. Turned around the PP
3. A valid claim

There's a tool for every job. And when you're not given that tool, it makes the job harder, to impossible. Phil was not given the tools to win. The personnel was poor. No one (players, Botterill, Pegula) think the coach is the problem. This team is poorly built and our depth is even worse. Did you even see our left wing depth? Holy Christ.

His game plan, with the right players, will succeed. We just need.. the right players. And this team is full of the wrong ones. The changes made this year, if significant (unlike last offseason) will turn this team around.

Nah, getting 7.5 mil off the books for something of value when you’re the last place team is not bad asset management

If we retain 2 or even 2.5 million, who wouldn't want ror?

Wish we could trade the 2 million salary and keep him.

2nd pairing D man for a 2nd line center/wing.

It’s not like Risto for Hall but that ship sailed

- sbroads24

I guess my opinion, but Risto is a more valuable talent and position than Chuk.

If you want cash, move Bogo, Moulson, Pommer for 16 million, or add Okposo and gain 22 mil. Trading ROR to clear cap space when he produces 60p a year (I know, at the wrong times in the game) is foolish asset management

So you’re using the absolute worst case scenario in Grigorenko and Fasching as examples?

We could just as easily end up with a really, really good player who’s 5x as cheap as O’Reilly for 3-4 years.

We’re winning very little with these guys. Keep them all

- sbroads24

I don't think people are saying keep everyone. But I think it's beneficial for the team to take the best short term/long term approach.

If indeed ROR has a lot of value, which I believe in, you can fetch an actual roster player or one ready to break into the league (maybe a 2016 or 17 NCAA player, for example) and a high pick. That way, you get an infusion of talent immediately, and a shot at a great player. But word is once you're out of the top 8-10, you might as well draft 20th.

Give me the 20th pick and a really good prospect then.

I truly think constant losing has destroyed what should be reasonable expectations for this fan base.

Last place teams get gutted. They get management fired. They don’t get kept in tact. Big changes are absolutely coming

Your suggestion is to trade ror for a player that has a 40-60% chance of being 4th line or worse

https://www.tsn.ca/statis...draft-pick-value-1.786131

- jcragcrumple

That's why making smart trades are smart.

KC's 2019 1st, 2018 3rd and Tre White for Bills 2018 1st

Watkins for Gaines and a 2nd
Darby for Matthews and a 3rd

Bills 2018 1st and Cordy Glenn for Cincy 1st, 2nd round value worth of moving up.

Short term. Long term. It's a great model, and you should be certain Botts has taken notice.

As they should. As long as you don't Tim Murray those assets, we have a chance.

Bruh, 3/4 of those names are going nowhere and the fourth has one year left, ROR has 5

That’s the thing though, we’d be trying to get another GM to Murray us.

Look at the return Colorado got for Duchene

The Flyers got for Carter/Richards/Schenn

O’Reilly is in the middle of Richards and Carter.

The return would be fine

You know what I respect about you stripes, is your ability to convey information in a positive way. There are definitely other intangibles to the press success.

I agree with you, well explained.

Not sure if nashville misses phil though?

- Boss34

That's a good point

I know Phil was great for them and the type of system they wanted to run but you make a good point there.

I will say this, I agree with you in that I would like to see more emotion out of Phil

A mysterious “half human, half animal” creature has been caught on camera after it was said to have savaged two dogs.

The beast is reported to have been spotted prowling through the streets of Santa Fe, Argentina.

The photo was taken after it was said to have butchered a German shepherd and a pit bull.

Some locals likened the creature to a camel because of its long neck and small head.

It was uploaded to the YouTube channel UFOmania, and has now been viewed more than 30,000 times.

One person commented: “I saw one of these things in 2005, it was crossing a bridge and we came upon it.

“It blew my mind because it looked at us and turned and began moving just like a kangaroo would and cleared the concrete bridge wall easily and dropped at least 15 to 20 feet.”

Another added: “Here in the Philippines it is called ASWANG — a man transforms into a monster dog.”

“It is a demon, it can even shift into a cat or a big bird.”

But one user insists it is a Chupacabra, a vampire-like creature with strong roots in Latin folklore.

This thing looks very strange.

That logic is so backwards to me. You don't move productive salary because you have so much unproductive salary. You figure out how to move the unproductive salary. It's a moot point anyway, we don't need cap space right now.

that's not the logic. The logic is, the contracts you listed can't be moved. ROR's can and it can be moved for a good haul to boot.
