I would've personally put Marner with JVR and Bozak.
Would've sicked Brown on the Bergeron line. He has more compete level. - Pen15
There are a lot of combinations of players and ideas that could work but unless this series is best of 20, we'll never have the time to figure it out.
At the end of the day, line matches won't mean poop if the rest of the team doesn't play to their potential. |

That's just it...JVR Bozak Marner isn't a test. They've done it and proven they can be productive before. |

First goal will be huge, they have to believe they can score in bunches against Boston. Letting Boston play with a multi goal lead will always skew how bad the play looks. |

I've said it before.
This series will be a learning experience for Matthews.
Being stuck with Bergeron all the time will make him look for ways to counter him, to improve on himself.
Leafs might lose, but it might be beneficial for the player in the long run. - Scabeh
Excellent points. Sometimes it takes someone on the outside looking in to see what’s going on. Cheers |

I agree. I'd also be giving Kap and Johansen (sp) more ice time. The experience is invaluable for the future. - Pen15
I wouldn't go that far as to put young guys in just to give him experience though.
You put the players in you think are giving you the best chance to win.

We went from 30th to 105 pts in two years. That’s on Babs, nobody saw that coming. A bunch of kids and nobody even close to being a number one D.
But we’re down two games to the Bruins and the pitchforks are out.

That's on Babs and the players. Matthews Marner, Nylander, Dermott are all phenomenal players. Babcock has them playing their full potential, don't get me wrong, he's made an impact on these players, but they would be good enough to possibly squeak themselves into the playoffs with a different coach and get close to similar results with a different coach equally as good as Babcock. |

Series is over. No one actually thinks we can win 4 (2 of which are in Boston) out of 5?
EDIT: not to mention, Kap and Johnson have been the only ones with a pulse. |

But they've also proved they couldn't be productive. Didn't that line get broken up because for a loooong stretch they weren't producing, and not only that but their defensive play was deplorable. |

I find it interesting two days of armchair coaching and line-up suggestions and not one person said 'hey what about Bozak?' |

Kap and Johnsson are better than some of our other options, I think. But that's what Babs is doing. Those two are better than Martin and Leivo which is why they're in. |
|
|
|
So a couple buzz experts disagree with babs' lineup decision and all of a sudden coaches are overrated?
This place never gets old. - Pen15

Their defensive play with Brown is still deplorable. And sometimes a break does some good. The combo was definitely working on the PP in the tail end of the season. |

Squeezing all the juice from Plekanec deal. Good thing they only wasted a 2nd round pick instead of a 1st round pick otherwise he might be on the 1st line by now. |

Go Leafs.
We'll take any kind of win.
Just make sure to crush Marchand really well into the ice nose first.
I do hope we don't have the teenage girl singing the anthem tonight - it's not setting the right scene for such a big game. |

All true points. I'm really not against the idea. More than anything, I hope Bozak is gone and we get someone less invisible We need better center depth. |

I can't believe I am saying this, but I agree with a Habs fan..
Kapanen and Johnsson have been good so far, but the playoffs is not the time to have them play 20+ minutes a night.
