Cool, his coaching methods have won him cups, presidents trophy's, Gold medals
show me evidence in relation to other Gms that his methods don't work
You can't. He has accomplished a lot with his methods, whether you agree with them or not. - Santo_44
Well its been 10 years since he last coached a team to SC victory.
And honestly, horachek could have coached that last olympic team canada to a gold medal.
Babs is a great coach....but some of his decisions...can be frustrating.
Specially when we are getting owned the last games. |

Unless Andersen steals one:
The Leafs will lose tonight. Pleks will lead the way.
So let it be written, so let it be done.
But, I am still looking forward to the game. Should be good. Hopefully I wont have to throw anything at my TV. |

You do know that Bergeron had like 1 goal in his first 20 playoff games.
Can Matthews be better, yes of course he can but don't put it all on him. - LeafMan
We're blaming him for this and the stale pretzels.
Grrr. |

and cool, Babs still accomplished those things.
Might as well say the Leafs suck if they ever win the cup because even the Oilers won the cup in 2006.....don't downplay impressive accomplishments just because it goes against your argument |

I wouldn't call the last two years some great highlight in his career. Our team is really good. And those other teams were also REALLY good.
Listen, you go suck Babs off. I don't care. All I am saying is putting Leo on the first line was a mistake and now Pleks at 2 is a mistake. Simple. |

Dude, come on.
The Sabres had promising young players too but still ended up sucking.
Babs had a huge hand in making the Leafs good. It is blatantly obvious. Especially considering how horrible Kadri and Gardiner were before he got here
Just ignore the whole timeline I know you can't admit when you are wrong |

Tonight is the game they need. If Boston takes a 3-0 lead....Leafs are toast, this is not the Caps. |

Not downplaying any of his team accomplishments.
But lets not over sell his impact on them as well.

You made the argument that Marleau failed against Bergeron like it was completely his fault, and you're doing it again saying the only reason any team is any good is because of their coach. Level off a bit and realize Babs is a good coach but could be better. That's all anyone is saying.

When the Leafs win the cup you all will be like "yeah, but Babs had Hyman on the 1st line"

Agreed. We have to win tonight or its over. I dont know, I just dont know what to expect from this team at this point. If they had the full team with Kadri I would book a win tonight. Now, with the way they have been playing and Pleks as our #2 center, who knows...
but Santo seems on board! |

2 things.
1- I'd rank Provorov ahead of Werenski. I think he's better.
2- According to some Vagcouver fans, Marner wouldn't even be in the 1st round of a re-draft. - GreatGigInTheSky

Hyman is one most of us have grown to accept and even appreciate. Komarov on the other hand is 100% completely un(frank)ingacceptable.
To say Babcock can do no wrong is just sad. And comparing people to UG should be a bannable offense. |

Babs is going for a defensive approach and you would prefer a fire vs fire approach....
we will see how this turns out but a few players will have to step up. The Plek line has to limit the damage and the other 3 lines have to chip in offensively. |

We'll be okay. Pleks can redeem himself. He, like all of this goddamn team, is better than what he's shown. |

I agree Kadri & Gardiner seem to have hit their potential, finally. Gardiner is a risky offensive defenseman who goofs up occasionally, and Kadri turned into a shutdown center on the 3rd line & somehow also puts up 60 points a year.
There's been good coaches before but they never got through to a lot of players, for whatever reason.
I think the same is happening in Edmonton. Good coach but a bad matchup with the current team (and horrible GM).
1 thing Babcock is really bad at, is being stubborn (or maybe good at, if that makes more sense). He takes forever to change his mind or try new, out of the box, stuff.
Yes, he knows better, we're not NHL coaches, but he's got a pattern from even before coming to Toronto, in his Detroit days. He's stubborn and very slow to change things that dont work. Its one of his pitfalls, but hey, no one is perfect & he's done more good things for the young players on this team than previous coaches. |
