Hell, at this point why not come out with something totally different if very little is working.

He is definitely hurt, if he isn't this is probably the fastest regression of a player I've seen in a long time. He does not look anything close to the Simmonds of previous seasons.

I will be stunned if he doesn't have some type of groin/core issue.

Yeah, I don't doubt that he is hurt. Apparently in one the recent post games he insisted that he wasn't. Regardless he shouldn't be out on the ice right now. It sucks but you have to look at the facts and plan accordingly. Weal would be adding something to this team right now. No part of Simmonds game has been adequate lately.

I can't disagree but unfortunately I don't see the Flyers sitting him, even though he probably should sit. He was the least effective Flyers forward today by a huge margin.

Difference is Pens bury majority of their chances, flyers struggle to. Patrick scores on that first shift of his who knows how today’s game goes.

Not sure what was so hard to get about it. The coach was looking for more scoring balance and offensive threats deeper into their lineup. Konecny has arguably been their best offensive forward in the series. He has provided a spark for that line. Are you seriously going to tell me that the player that everyone thinks should win the Hart, which I don't disagree with, needs Konecny to get going and play better offensively? Not saying it won't help and it's a bad suggestion but let's not pretend like the move to put Konecny on that the 3rd line does not have a sound basis behind it.

Doesnt mean much - but I dont like them just walking out with the tail in b/w the legs.

Let them know you will see them in game 4.

Oh I know they won't sit him.

Like I said the other day, this is the same franchise that let Giroux continue playing with two broken wrists. They'll never learn.

A lot of credit should go to Murray there. He read it and made a great save.

LOL what? Read has played well in his role of 4th line PK guy. He is far from the problem with his 11:29 mins of ice time, 6:20 of which was PK time......

Patrick elevates that puck and the game may have been entirely different. The team's focus dropped off a bit after the Pen's first goal and disappeared entirely after the second.

They are a very fragile group but I imagine playing the 2 time champs probably factors into that as well

The adjustments that are needed to be made need to be made by the players, not the coach. The repeated blaming and scapegoating of players such as Manning is absurd and asinine. The Flyers lost today for the simple reason of their top players are a complete non factor and those same top players took absurd penalties one after the other. Inserting Weal and Hagg is not the answer. The FLyers will not win this series or any series for that matter with Giroux and Voracek complete no shows.

Nailed it

The top players received very heavy minutes in game 2 and it was a quick turnaround playing this afternoon. It’s good they have 2 nights off

I disagree. There is no way Weal should play ahead of Simmonds. I don't disagree that Simmnds has continued not to play well but he is still a better bet to contribute offensively than Weal is.

I feel the same. I also think maybe they use this to try sign Simmer at a cheaper rate over the summer. Dude has got to still be dinged up. He was pretty productive until he went out with injury. He hasn't been his normal self since he has been back. That is a classic "nursing an injury" pattern.

I also don't think you bring in Haag in the middle of this series unless there is an injury. That is asking a lot of a rookie to come in in the middle of this.

If you want to bring in Weal for a spark, mabye Lehtera sits, put Laughton at center.
