Can't win every year. Leafs won like 40 years ago. Right? I was going to watch the game but after seeing the score after the first. I decided to invest time into watching SJ vs ANA instead. It was a good game. SJ could be sneaky these playoffs.

Close enough. I don't blame you for switching over. I'm a Leafs fan and now more invested in the Avs/Preds series. It's been closer than the numbers suggest. Even the Vegas/Kings series is really good to watch. It's better hockey than watching my own team anyway, but I still hold the faiths.

Leafs are not strong enough down the middle to beat bruins. Bruins are more determined and tough then the leafs. Leafs “skill” is not going to make the difference. Kadri may have sold the farm by getting 3 game suspension. Leafs D has been atrocious. Zaitsev looks like Jr B player out there. Bruins are terrific at the O zone cycling the puck and Toronto can not cope. Lou and all his rule about shaving and discipline. Yea they look disciplined alright. NOT

Ya, sometimes you just run into a team that is better at that moment. Hopefully the Leaf's players take something from this. Come back a better team next game and next season. A lot of extremely good young talent. Inexperienced but you gain experience by playing games like ones last night.

I like where Van has started to head but I would love to have a Marner and Matthews leading the team.

Never before has a series been more over.

Boston is the better team in all phases of the game. Better 5v5, better special teams, better top line/top 6, better bottom 6/forward depth. Better defense. Better goaltending. It’s over. Sweep incoming.

Lol, sounds like some leafs hate not centred in reality.

Putting in Martin solves nothing. Just makes the lineup weaker and probably gives the Bruins another unneeded pp. adding Martin to the 4th line doesn't makes 3 other lines he's not on suddenly bigger. Beat them playing your game, speed and skill. They were doing a good job of it after the first 5 mins until it unravelled.

Stop playing guys 2 full mins on the pk also. So dumb

Speed and skill is not gonna help us win. Playoff hockey is at a total other level than reg season hockey much more intense and physical. Leafs are playing like grasshoppers against giants. Bruins physical play is shutting down leafs getting them off there game. Leafs need to be more aggressive and physical period!!
In off season get another top notch C man and also get rid of plek and Moore. Boyle was way better for us last year then what we have now.

If game 3 goes the same way the first two games went - I'm going to KFC tuesday morning and buying enough waffle double downs to give me a heart attack and end it for me.

I'm assuming that waffle is put in there to soak up any grease that might otherwise escape?

Totally agree. And yes, Boyle was good for us. Pleks is bad.

And what's wich the idea that Martin takes bad penalties? Martin doesn't take bad penalties, his hits are clean. That is Moore and Polak with bad penalties...

We have a young group and young players can easily be intimidated. Those who don't think that having a big guy in the line up helps when you are in a playoff war are wrong.

INTIMIDATION is still a major factor in hockey.

Pretty sure Marchand, Pastrnak, Bergeron are showing you guys that speed and skill will destroy you. Hits between the 2 teams are 71-70 for Boston.

100% correct. Bruins intimidate leafs big time and get in their heads. See jvr and Komarov both scared taking a hit?!! That’s why Komarov got hurt.

Read my whole thread! Speed and skill is good. Playoff hockey is a whole other level of intensity and physicality. Leafs can’t play it cuz they don’t have the players. Maybe Kadri. Grasshopper against bears.

The first line was "speed and skill isn't going to help us win". Speed and skill will help you win if the players assert it. I wasn't debating that playoff hockey is "different" from the regular season. All players can play "playoff hockey". Players just need to forget about the perimeter game and go hard to the net.

Yup.

Boston is the better team and deserve to be up 2-0.

but playoff hockey or not, they are not 12-4 better than us. What a disappointment. Babcock getting thourghly out coached imo.

Ya exactly. They’ve been the better team forsure. The leafs aren’t this bad either, they need to win the next game and try and get back to 2-2 somehow.

even babcock cannot correct jvr gardiner nylander bad habits. matthews is not 100% healthy. brown remains a borderline 3rd liner.
sad if apart from star marner, young players like kapanen and dermott are ones with best play and effort on team

I fully expect that once the season is over they will reveal something, could be his shoulder. Some nagging thing that he can play through, but might require a minor surgery...

Management knew the defence was a weak spot, and chose not to address it

Also, overpaid for Plekanec

They should absorb some of the blame as well

That being said......if we win game 3, we still have a shot
