Fair enough to all your responses. I personally like our depth, just curious of the outside opinion. Thanks.

I put in bold all the reasons why you won't win. It's very similar to a Canucks line up.
- manvanfan

so 2 playoff games where Boston can do whatever the want with impunity has equal weighting to 82 regular season games?

The Leafs deserve pretty every criticism you can throw their way, but that comparison isn't remotely accurate.

I’m being dead serious asking this. I know the top line has so many points, but have the other lines surprised you at all? I heard so much about the Bs being a one line team and despite the points they’ve put up they’re still playing very wel.
- RickJames77

I think so far it only hardens the notion. If they were shut down, the series would be pretty different. You'd still win but with a different dynamic.
There were, in my opinion, three key areas where the Leafs needed to succeed to beat the B's.
1) Play even with your first line.
2) Be the better special teams team.
Number C) Andersen had to outplay Rask.

We have failed miserably on all three accounts and are seeing it.

Glad I didn't watch, but a quick glance at the scoresheet tells me Andersen was horrible, Mcilheney not much better and Matthews had some shots but accomplished nothing.

Oh and the refs threw a few powerplays our way after the game was out of hand.

about right?

Does't seem to be much hope they can even compete in a game nevermind the series; men against boys.

This should give management a good idea of what the team is lacking.

The Leafs are young. They'll get older, Stronger, tougher. And with this core going forward, will be a very competitive team for a very long time.

Sure, they're a piece or two short, but what team isn't.

Growing pains. They're a b!tch.

Auston Matthews, asked about the Bergeron line having 20 points: “poop happens, I guess. That’s hockey.”

Nice leader...

- Fruitcakenipple

Matthews did look alright out there tho.. he was buzzing around, doing some AM type poop.. jarring with big Zee a little.. right now, I think a Kadri is our best leader.

I’ve always been a HUGE Pastrnak fan and have made that known here, but my god is he something else. I remember when he fell to the Bruins I lost my mind and woke up the next day and my girlfriend at the time was like “you look like I woke you up with a blowjob”

He’s surpassed my expectations.

That's pretty harsh considering we went from dead last to back to back post-season and best reg season in Leaf history.

Sorry I'm a little flabbergasted that a Leafs 'fan' can go a decade without playoffs, then not even be bothered to watch the game.

A lot of guys had some lofty expectations for them these playoffs. I had them out in the second round against Tampa, and they're disappointing even me. I can't imagine how the people in here who thought they'd make it to the Finals feel right now.

He said Matthews did nothing. Kinda lead the team in shots, but yeah, nothing.
