I can't wait until Frost replaces one of the blockheads in our bottom six. When you have guys like that you can plug in on the 3rd line(which is where I imagine he ends up with our depth chart) you know your team is moving in the right direction.

And you can't be anything but thrilled with Hart. From what I understand his defense in front of him is considered to be very strong and the backup goalie apparently also has strong numbers from what I've heard. That's the only thing tempering my excitement a little bit. Kid is no doubt the most important prospect in our system right now.

Everett is a strong defensive team, but Hart's numbers are beyond belief in a high-scoring league.

I was fine with him punching Frankenstein in the face in that moment.....it's game 2 of what could be a long series...now I do think you have to pick your spots, but you still need to bring that element to the game if you have any shot of winning.

I mean the flopping was NBA material. Embarrassing in my opinion.

Credit is due to a lot of players from last night but imo the most credit goes to Dave Hakstol for sticking with his lineup, showing this team he believes in them. Elliott has to feel good also getting the nod. I really wanted him to get a shutout to boost his confidence even more so but he looked settled. Fun fact: those 4 goals were the Most Murray has allowed in a home playoff game.

Haks made the right call last night.
The players responded too.

Guile on the Penguins board wanted giroux to duck on the collision with Letang to ensure no danger to either player’s head.

Someone else said giroux was “sheepishly grinning” afterwards. It’s comical at this point.

Absolutely. And just as important is that scouts say he's unflappable. He just shakes off the very rare bad goal and doesn't let it bug him. He's also very sound positionally too. There really is no weakness to his game.

Watched Hart a few times in World Juniors. Effortless movement in the crease. Not a lot of unnecessary movement either. Just looks calm. Reminded me of Holtby or Carey Price. Obviously has a long way to go to truly compare to those 2 but he moves like them. Can't wait to see him.

I thought it was clear as day he launched himself then flopped

that first penalty call that led to the Flyers PP goal was ridiculously bad.

I watched the game on CBC. As the game began, the first thing that was said was, the officials will let them play....

The context between games 1 and 2 reminded me of my first tackling drill in my first football practice. I got destroyed but said "oh, this is what hitting is like". Lesson learned.

Glad the kids responded well. Patrick looked much better out there and TK's goal was a beaut.

I'm not going to get into a debate with you because quite frankly I don't give a crap about you but I will say I have a friend who has a child with autism and she is highly offended by the word retarded. its not a word used today despite the definition of the word "being accurate".
- nastyflyergirl

Facts don't care about your feelings.

It absolutely is a word used today, and I used it correctly. I did not refer to the thinking or logic as a slur for disabled people, I referenced no one with autism, down syndrom, etc., I did not intend for it to do that. That's the problem with people today, no one can separate intent from emotion. I did not call your friend's child a retard, nor would I ever. Your misinterpretation of my words is not my problem.

The overall history of this team is strange. I'm pretty sure we hold records for both extreme greatness (First goalie to physically score a goal. First expansion team to win the Stanley Cup. The great come back of 2010 against the Bruins) but also records for fantastically crashing burning. We can't score on back ups but bend starting goalies over pretty easily. I remember when Hasek was playing for Buffalo forever. All you ever heard was how unbeatable he was but also unorthodox. We beat him pretty easily most time.

John LeClair rips a slap shot through the side meshing, that was counted as a goal. Wasn't a goal. But they couldn't take it back.

I would like us to subscribe to a general theory that primarily focuses on minimizes good chances for the other team on a consistent basis rather than outscore, or rely on a generational goalie to be a savior.

We had and have a team that can win with a decent, consistent goalie.

I know that sounds obtuse, but I still think we can beat this team.

Esche, Boucher, and Hextall all could have been winning goalies, they were all team defeats.

I get what you're saying but to be fair it's not like any of those guys you named won anywhere else they played either. Same can be said right now for every goalie not named Hart in our franchise.

Obviously I can't judge the quality of shots by the stat line and being I haven't seen any of the games I can't say but over games 2 thru 5 he faced an average of 35.5 shots a game while only giving up 4 goals. sounds pretty impressive.

If I am not using the word as hate speech, it is absolutely okay. I didn't use the word at hate speech. The word itself should not be offensive, the intent behind it should be.
