I think you're undervaluing Karlsson. It would be ROR, Risto, multiple 1sts for Bobby and Karlsson. Just my guess.

That would be utter insanity

If that trade was made, GMJB would be looking for another job, and soon.

I think you're overvaluing Karlsson years 5-8 of his next contract are going to have a huge downward swing production wise

I also think you're not realizing how bad that Bobby Ryan contract is

$7.25 million for 4 more years for 33 points per season

History under Pegula says he will be looking for another job next summer anyway.

Rick Dipietro
- washedup20

Yashin, they just stopped paying him 3 years ago. They paid him in excess of $2M for 8 (frank)ing years, and he counted against the cap after he stopped playing for them. DiPietro is atrocious, and a very close second, but he was a compliance buyout and thus doesn't count against the cap.

Ottawa are going to have to eat half his celery to realistically trade him.

So Bobby Ryan at 3.65 for 4 years isn't so bad looking but I honestly don't want to be anywhere near him and doubt Ottawa trades Karlsson to a division rival.

My call to the sens would be Karlsson extended for 8 years at 9.5-10.5 plus Ryan for ROR, Bogo and Okposo and a pick

If not, nah

No way, Ottawa is (frank)ed and they know it. And Bobby Ryan has negative value at this point. $7.25M for 4 more years for 11 goals. Yeesh.

Karlsson is gone, it's almost a fact at this point, the Sens have very little leverage. The only way they can get any of that leverage back is if they sign him first.

I was saying current contract

And I forgot lucic

- jcragcrumple

DiPietro is still a current contract. The Isles are still paying him. He "earned" $1.5M this year. And will until 2029. Ok I take back the Yashin thing, DiPietro is the worst, I didn't realize it was for another 11 years, I thought it was only like 5.

Yashin did count against the cap for 8 years after playing, that's really bad, but Ricky boy getting paid for twice that amount of time makes up for the fact he doesn't count against the cap, though just.

Even he hated that contract, tried to off himself (not good). Wonder what he is up to nowadays.

Edit: DiPietro is currently a NY sports talk show host on ESPN 98.7 FM.

Speed, youthful enthusiasm, and fresh mindsets that have no ego to counter the direction of the organization. I'm sticking with bringing in minimal F.A's.
- washedup20

It only makes sense to bring in Free Agents if they’re top of the line types

No sense in signing a guy like Pouliot over playing a guy like Baptiste or Bailey

You folks realize were talking about the leagues best D man who's 27, right?

He had 43 EV points, on the 2nd lowest scoring team in hockey.

He's the elite of the elite at his position.

They can have any 2 players on this team that aren't named Jack + whatever money he wants

He hasn’t done anything decent in 6 years
And that was only 19goals,
while playing 2C for the Blackhawks

I can’t see anyway that he’s effective for us
Maybe as a 4C,
but wouldn’t u rather just play E Rod, Asplund or Malone in that spot?

I guess we could give him a tryout to Camp,
but i wouldn’t sign him

I wouldn’t want Bobby Ryan for ONE year at 3.65, let alone FOUR
No way
